Sunday January 19th, 2014
A British sailor was murdered while trying to defend his wife aboard their yacht moored on the Caribbean island St Lucia. 62 year old Roger Pratt was with his wife Margaret aboard their yacht 'Magnetic Attraction' moored at Vieux Fort on Friday night when the attackers boarded the boat and attacked. Margaret Pratt has been treated and leased from hospital, but her husbands body was found Floating nearby.

The cause of Rogers death is not yet known, but there is a post mortem scheduled for Monday.
Two men have since been charged.

The couple were on a round the world trip And were celebrating Margarets birthday when the attack took place. They had set off in June from Lowestoft and spent some time in the Algarve before heading to the Caribbean.

Another tragic loss to a couple who have set off to live a dream. Our thoughts are with Margaret and all family and friends of the couple.

As sad as this is, and this is tragically sad, I really hope that that it doesn't stop others striving to live their dream. What has happened to Roger and Margaret is abhorrent, and I am sure the perpetrators of this crime will be duly caught and given the sentence they deserve (If such a sentence exists for such a cowardly act, if not I can think of a few) But living the dream, sailing the world really can be as exciting and romantic as it sounds. My thoughts are with the family and friends of Roger and Margaret. Lets not let their aggressors and murderers put others off living what can be a fulfilling lifestyle.
God Bless.

Such a sad end to someone's life, when they should be living their dream.
