BOLTON SCHOOL DICKENS WORLD RECORD

Tuesday February 7th, 2012
ImageHarbourguides cheeky mascot Chloe sailed into the Guiness Book of Records today after participating in a school challenge to celebrate Dickens Day. Pupils of Bolton School Girls Division dressed up as their favourite characters from Charles Dickens novels to celebrate 200 years since his birth and enjoyed Dickens themed lessons and food throughout the day. The girls and staff aimed to beat a previous record for the number of people dressed as Dickens characters in one place which they did in fine form, setting a new world record of 739!! Chloe opted to dress up as the eccentric and much loved character Miss Havisham from Great Expectations. When asked about her choice of character, she responded by saying she chose Miss Havisham as she wanted to wear her Mums rather lovely ( and expensive) designer wedding dress. She had no such luck, and instead looked resplendant in a lacy, vintage number from a local charity shop! A fun time was had by all and we would like to congratulate the girls and staff for such a unique achievement. On behalf of the Harbourgudes crew, Well Done Bolton School Girls Division.
