We are very sad to report that Bewl Water Sailing Club is struggling financially and is likely to go into administration.
Based on the Kent and Sussex border on one of the largest reservoirs in the South East, the club cannot afford to pay the £160,000 rent and is in affect insolvent.
It is believed the next three months’ rent is due on Wednesday, and they simply do not have the funds to pay it.
Trevor Spink, the Vice Commodore has informed the 600 members that a notice of intention to appoint administrators to the High Court had been filed, and urged them to move the boats at their earliest convenience.
White Maund are thought to be the administrator they have decided to appoint after the extraordinary general meeting that was held at the clubhouse on Sunday.
Always sad when a sailing club closes, best of luck to you all.
