BARCELONA SAIL
Thursday June 28th, 2012
Harbourguides trip to Barcelona aboard our yacht 'Knight Song' is still on target for the 10/11th July.2012.
Knight Song has been on hard standing for the last three months, but today she returns to the water.
The Harbourguides crew have been working long hours over the last few weeks getting the remaining jobs done, and at last they can see light at the end of the tunnel.
Crew member Steve Mallinson said: 'There has been much more work to do than we first anticipated and its been touch and go at times weather we would have to put the date back again, but she goes back in the water today, and providing there isn't any unforeseen problems, we should be on schedule, so fingers crossed.
If all goes to plan the crew will set sail from Preston on the 10th or 11th of July from Preston and their first port of call will be Kinsale southern Ireland. From here they head pretty much South to La Coruna,(North Spain) This leg will take about seven days depending on the weather and the crew will not see land during this stage. From here they hope to be day sailing down the Portugese Atlantic coast and staying in Marinas of an evening. They will enter the Mediterranean, through the Gibraltar Straight, and visit Mallorca and Ibiza on their way to Barcelona.
Good luck guys, Hope to see you in Barcelona!!
