BARBEQUE SINKS BOAT

Thursday June 10th, 2010
A family barbeque turned into an expensive disaster in Sydney Harbour when a barbeque got out of control. The fifty foot Riviera Sport Fisherman was completely destroyed when flaming fat sprayed off the small gas barbecue setting fire to the deck.

The owner of the motor cruiser said, 'Once the fibreglass caught light there was no stopping the fire... fire extinguishers were useless'.

Despite the success of fire-fighters to extinguish the flames the boat was too badly damaged and sank. And add insult to injury the blaze spread to a boat moored alongside which also sank later.
