ARMY STYLE HOLIDAY CAMP IS A BIG HIT
It’s the latest in bizarre theme hotels but Romanian holiday makers are eagerly booking a taste of army life on a former military base where tanks have been turned into luxury bedrooms. If you don’t fancy a tank for the night there are ‘normal’ rooms complete with decommissioned cannons shooting out of the windows or you might prefer to bunk down in a secret underground tunnel.
The £17million 80 hectare tourist trap at Orastie offers visitors forced marches, training drills, tank driving and shooting practice. With prices starting at £40 per night full board or £120 for six nights with breakfast and dinner it is also quite a bargain... as long as the food is not military style of course!
