ANCHOR LOCKER CARE

Friday January 17th, 2014
ImageAnchor lockers aboard boats and yachts take a fair bit of stick. For a start quite often there is stacks of rusty chain or rope lurking about in them, and we regularly use them for storing the odd item, like Gas bottles and fuel cans etc. So they do take a fair bit of stick. We have found that a good way to help protect them is to insert a Gorilla Tub (Large flexible plastic bucket used by bulders) in the locker and let the chain, rope, cans etc fall into this, therefore protecting the GRP, Wood, Steel, Cement, or whatever else your boat is made from.It is vital that you make sure that you make a hole or holes in the bottom of the bucket/tub in order for the locker to be able to drain.

These Gorilla Tubs come in different sizes, are very in-expensive and are easy to cut or adapt to the shape of the anchor locker.
