ABDUCTED GIRL FOUND AFTER EIGHTEEN YEARS
Friday August 28th, 2009

A woman who was kidnapped eighteen years ago has turned up this week in a California police station with the couple that abducted her. Jaycee Dugard was snatched near her home in South Lake Tahoe on 10th June 1991 when she was 11 by two people in a grey sedan.
The married couple who abducted her, Phillip Craig Garrido, 58, and Nancy Garrido, 55 entered the Concord police station with Dugard to ask for some information and aroused an officer’s suspicions. Details are so far few but according to the San Francisco Chronicle Phillip Garrido, a registered sex offender with a prior conviction for rape, was being held on suspicion of kidnapping, rape, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, sexual penetration and kidnapping, and Nancy Garrido was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and kidnapping.
The district attorney’s office is busy trying to reconcile current law with that on the books in 1991.
