Soy español y esta es mi primera vez en Shetland; me alegra muchísimo haberme alojado en el Busta House Hotel. El personal fue fantástico, encabezado por Grant, quien hizo que mi pareja y yo nos sintiéramos muy bienvenidos y cómodos. Incluso había un miembro del personal que hablaba español, lo cual me resultó de gran ayuda. Los desayunos estaban deliciosos —mi favorito fue el desayuno tradicional escocés— y nuestra habitación era muy espaciosa y cómoda. La ubicación del hotel es preciosa y tranquila. Disfruté muchísimo de mi estancia en Shetland y el Busta House Hotel contribuyó enormemente a ello. Gracias a Grant («la celebridad») y a todo el equipo por hacer la experiencia tan agradable; espero volver a verles pronto.

Busta House Hotel
I am Spanish and this is my first time in Shetland and I'm so happy I stayed at Busta House Hotel. The staff were fantastic, led by Grant who made me and my partner feel very welcome and comfortable. One of the staff even spoke Spanish which was very helpful for me. The breakfasts were delicious and my favourite was the traditional Scottish breakfast, our room was very spacious and comfortable. The location of the hotel is beautiful and secluded. I had a fantastic time in Shetland and Busta House Hotel contributed to this in a big way. Thank you Grant (The celebrity) and all the team for making it so enjoyable, and I look forward to seeing you again.

Bolts Car Hire don't complicate things and we feel secure in the knowledge that we will not be overcharged or charged for imaginary damage (Which has happened to us from other car hire companies on our travels) Great to do business with them and we have no hesitation in recommending them to people.

Never let us down yet. Always fast pick up, no delays, Also have their own fuel station making the whole experience very easy and fuss free. Don't bother looking elsewhere!

Mid Brae Inn
Great place for us to call in for a pint and some decent food and friendly faces. Well run and nice to unwind with a game of pool or darts.

Tagon Stores
A little life saver of a convenience store with a petrol station. Always seemed to be well stocked when we called in. It is a little bit like going back in time, and a much better experience than going to one of these national supermarkets.

The New Harbour Cafe
If you want good wholesome home cooked food at very competitive prices, The New Harbour Cafe is your place to go. We ate here every day for the four days we were in Lerwick. Great food that wont brake the bank!

Frankie's Fish & Chips
We live in the North of England close to Whitby which is famous for fish and chips and have some of the best "Chippies" in the country. Frankie's Fish & Chips is equally if not better than any of the fish restaurants we have eaten in. The batter is the best and the portions are a perfect size, not overloaded but just enough. Its also in a lovely setting in the North of the island in a great little village.

Aurora Jewellery - Lerwick
A beautiful shop filled to the brim with lovely items. We also visited them in Orkney, and we were so pleased to see the other shop in Lerwick as we wanted some more gifts to take back home. An absolute gem.

Mid Brae Inn
Not many typical pubs in Shetland, but Mid Brae Inn is definitely one of them. Great homemade cooked food, nice pint and wines and very nice people running it. They have a pool table and darts and a separate restaurant section. Im pretty sure they are dog friendly as well. A really nice pub and restaurant!!!

Gurkha Kitchen
WE never eat Nepalese food before we go to this restaurant and now we love the Nepalese food. we eaten twice and both the times were good and tasty. we go on a weekend and had special menu, very good price for us. Thank you Ghurka Kitchen for very nice food and people

LHD Shop
Godsend of a shop, plenty of quality outdoor branded clothing including safety wear. Nice range of stylish clothing and fishing equipment. Good all round shop!!

We were on a self catering holiday and came across this fantastic fishmongers on this website. We were after plenty of fresh fish, but we also needed to stock up on steaks. So the good news for us is that there is a butchers next door. Obviously its not a unique experience to find a butchers and a fishmongers in close proximity, however what is unique is to find the standard and quality of produce for fish and meats next door to one another. The fish is as fresh as you will find and the shop is spotless. fantastic find. We have also left a review on the butchers.

Tagon Stores
Lovely family run provisions shop with a very handy fuel station on the forecourt. As you can see from the photos its very well stocked and you can get all your provisions from here and top the car up with fuel at the same time. They also have fresh milk on tap, so if you take your own container you can fill it up here. lovely shop!!!

M.R. GAIR
The best service garage and repair shop on the islands with state of the art equipment. Family run and owned all the staff were very polite and helpful. If you need body work or engine repairs or anything else motor related, these are the go to guys.

What a find this place is and its very understated. It has plenty of seating area and we got straight in without a booking. We have eaten at Indian and Nepalis restaurant in the past, but we are no experts to the menus, so the help and advice from the waitress was very welcome. She helped with our choices and she chose very well. A very enjoyable evening and one we will repeat again soon.

Probably the best Indian and Nepalis cuisine we have ever tasted and definitely the best restaurant in Lerwick. The staff are lovely and really take an interest in your tastes and are willing to help you choose your dish. 10 out of 10 from us

We are another first timers trying Nepalese food, and we were blown away by the experience. It seems to be a family run restaurant and they are very helpful and friendly. We can't wait to try it again. 10 out of 10 from us!

A really nice Nepalese restaurant in Lerwick close to the centre. Really friendly staff and the food is fantastic. It was our first time in a Nepalese restaurant, so we weren't sure what to expect. The waitress talked us through some of the menu and helped us make the right choice. Its one we will eat in again next time in Lerwick.

Busta House Hotel
A real historic building that's full of character and charm. All rooms are different some have four poster beds, but they are all well equipped and very comfortable. If you are looking for a modern hotel that is part of a large group, Busta House Hotel is not for you. However if you are looking for a hotel full of character and history with very helpful and friendly staff, with a restaurant serves up delicious food, then this is the place for you. Also the location has very little light pollution and is an ideal spot for the Aurora Borealis. What more could you ask for?

Tagon Stores
A definite lifesaver this shop in a pretty quiet part of Shetland close to Brae. It is well stocked and serves fresh milk that you can put into your own containers. It also has the added bonus of having a fuel station on the forecourt. Make sure you use these small independent services on these pretty remote islands as without them we would all suffer.

The Noost Bar
Lovely bar with entertainment. We have been here twice already. Looking forward to the "Munchies" tonight.

Probably one of the best equipped body shops in Scotland. Every bit of state of the art equipment. The go to place for top workmanship.

Mid Brae Inn
Great find in the little village of Brae. Although we loved our holiday to Shetland, we did find that there was a shortage of pub restaurants on the island. We discovered Mid Brae Inn on this site and as the photos looked good and the fact that it served food, we decided to give it a go. And what a good decision it turned out to be. The food seems to be home cooked and there's quite a varied menu with typical English and Scottish dishes. It was our favourite pub restaurant on our stay in Shetland.

Busta House Hotel
We had a fabulous meal here when we were staying in Brae. The whole experience was magical, we were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights! It was probably one of the best experiences we have had. We were staying at a different hotel near Brae, (I wont mention the name) which was ok, but if and when we come to Shetland again, we will bee booking the Busta House Hotel.

Mid Brae Inn
Lovely country pub serving good homemade food at sensible prices. Situated in Brae at the north of the island the pub is privately run and has a nice cosy atmosphere. There is a pool table and dart board and TV. There is also a separate room that can be used for private functions. This is a really nice pub to visit as there iare not many pubs that serve food as good as this.

Nice to have a mini supermarket as well stocked as this out in the quiet part of Shetland. A really useful service fo r both locals and visitors. It also has a fuel station attached.

Busta House Hotel
Had a great stay during a working trip to Shetland. The hotel and bar are very atmospheric and would make a fantastic film setting. The staff are extremely helpful without being intrusive. The food was of a high standard as was the service. The only downside is that we didn't get to see the Northern Lights! Ah well, maybe next time.

We loved our stay at Busta House Hotel. The staff were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. the rooms are all individual and have their own character, the one I stayed in had a four poster bed. The surroundings are very tranquil. The food is also very good and the bar has enough going on to make a nice atmosphere, without being roudy.
Its a hotel that I would definitely stay in again.

We used this shop regularly when we stayed at the Busta House Hotel. Its a nice medium sized convenience store that is really well stocked with the added bonus of having a petrol station attached.

We used this store on our stay in Shetland. Its only small but well stocked. The service is great and the kind you only get from a family run business. There is a fuel pump on the courtyard as you can see from the photos, and their costs are competitive. We think its important people use these small family businesses when visiting Shetland because its these businesses that give the islands such a unique feel.

We hired a car for a few days and saw Tagon Stores on this guide, we were only calling in for some fuel, however we ended up stocking up on provisions as the store is very well stocked. Its pretty much like a small supermarket.
