Gotta say, this is one hell of a good chippy. And as all good eateries expect it to be busy. But don't worry, they have a great system for takeaways, they give you a notification card that basically notifies you when your order is ready so you can wait in your car or sit outside if it's nice weather. Believe me it's well worth the short wait

This shop and fuel station is one of the things that makes Shetland so unique as mentioned in other reviews. Its like something out of a Scottish movie. Quite remote, but close to Voe. A family run gem of a shop and a pleasure to shop there. If we dont use these services they will one day disappear. Look forward to visiting you again next year.

We live in the North of England close to Whitby which is famous for fish and chips and have some of the best "Chippies" in the country. Frankie's Fish & Chips is equally if not better than any of the fish restaurants we have eaten in. The batter is the best and the portions are a perfect size, not overloaded but just enough. Its also in a lovely setting in the North of the island in a great little village.

Not many typical pubs in Shetland, but Mid Brae Inn is definitely one of them. Great homemade cooked food, nice pint and wines and very nice people running it. They have a pool table and darts and a separate restaurant section. Im pretty sure they are dog friendly as well. A really nice pub and restaurant!!!

Lovely Thai and Chinese Restaurant ideally located in Lerwick at the Viking Bus Station. The décor is lovely as is the service and food. We had the sweet and sour and some dim sums, both were delicious. The Thai waitress was very polite and helpful. The whole night was a very pleasant experience.

Delightful Thai restaurant and takeaway. Typical Thai menu with very pleasant staff. We had a takeaway the first time we went and it was so nice we sat in for a meal on the next visit. everything was great. It was pretty busy and the staff are flat out working, but still serve you with a lovely smile.

We ate here after seeing the beautiful photos on the advert. It was a fantastic find as me and my husband love Thai food and always look out for a Thai restaurant on our travels. TJ's didn't disappoint us! delicious Thai cuisine with the usual lovely Thai welcome. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. A must visit when in Shetland.

We were on a self catering holiday and came across this fantastic fishmongers on this website. We were after plenty of fresh fish, but we also needed to stock up on steaks. So the good news for us is that there is a butchers next door. Obviously its not a unique experience to find a butchers and a fishmongers in close proximity, however what is unique is to find the standard and quality of produce for fish and meats next door to one another. The fish is as fresh as you will find and the shop is spotless. fantastic find. We have also left a review on the butchers.

Popped in for some knitting supplies as I find it very relaxing on our sailing trips. However I was delighted to see they are also huge stockists of babywear. Having just recently become a grandmother it was the perfect time to also stock up on some beautiful baby clothes and accessories. A really enjoyable shopping experience and a very pleasant surprise.

Lovely family run provisions shop with a very handy fuel station on the forecourt. As you can see from the photos its very well stocked and you can get all your provisions from here and top the car up with fuel at the same time. They also have fresh milk on tap, so if you take your own container you can fill it up here. lovely shop!!!

Its no wonder Frankie's Fish & Chips got voted UKs top Fish & Chip Shop. We loved everything about this place, even the ordering procedure. Situated in the beautiful village of Brae this takeaway/restaurant/café is spotlessly clean, very well run and serves up fantastic fresh fish, as well as delicious burgers, pizzas and other dishes. We were staying in Lerwick and had a drive out to Brae for the day, its quite a distance but a must visit Shetland. As well as Frankie's Fish & Chips there's other great places. We will be leaving reviews for these also.

We only had a takeaway from here awhich we ate on the boat. We didb order too much, so we heated it up again the next day and ate it on the boat. Both times the food was perfect. We will over order on our next trip and keep some for the following day. Lovely to sit on the boat with a glass of wine feet up eating top quality Indian food.

What a find this place is and its very understated. It has plenty of seating area and we got straight in without a booking. We have eaten at Indian and Nepalis restaurant in the past, but we are no experts to the menus, so the help and advice from the waitress was very welcome. She helped with our choices and she chose very well. A very enjoyable evening and one we will repeat again soon.

A really nice Nepalese restaurant in Lerwick close to the centre. Really friendly staff and the food is fantastic. It was our first time in a Nepalese restaurant, so we weren't sure what to expect. The waitress talked us through some of the menu and helped us make the right choice. Its one we will eat in again next time in Lerwick.

We ate here and it was honestly the best food we had in the two weeks we were in Shetland. If we were staying closer we would have eaten here every night. (We were staying in Lerwick) The food is so obviously home cooked by someone who knows how to cook good wholesome food with a very sensible price tag. The bar area soon livens up with the locals and there's a pool table and darts. To sum it up great pub, great food and lovely staff.

A real historic building that's full of character and charm. All rooms are different some have four poster beds, but they are all well equipped and very comfortable. If you are looking for a modern hotel that is part of a large group, Busta House Hotel is not for you. However if you are looking for a hotel full of character and history with very helpful and friendly staff, with a restaurant serves up delicious food, then this is the place for you. Also the location has very little light pollution and is an ideal spot for the Aurora Borealis. What more could you ask for?

Location, quirkiness, individuality, cosy bedrooms, excellent restaurant & service, etc. etc. the list could go on, but the point I'm trying to make is the Busta House Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Shetland, especially if you want somewhere a little special and unique. A definite lifesaver this shop in a pretty quiet part of Shetland close to Brae. It is well stocked and serves fresh milk that you can put into your own containers. It also has the added bonus of having a fuel station on the forecourt. Make sure you use these small independent services on these pretty remote islands as without them we would all suffer.

Very fond memories of eating here when we were touring the Highlands. We were actually staying in Lerwick which is a good half hour drive to Brae where Frankie's is. However we ate here four times!! And it was well worth the drive. There's nothing to touch this anywhere else on the island as far as we could see. So if you are visiting Shetland, wherever you are give Frankie's Fish & Chip restaurant and takeaway a go. You wont regret it.

Great find in the little village of Brae. Although we loved our holiday to Shetland, we did find that there was a shortage of pub restaurants on the island. We discovered Mid Brae Inn on this site and as the photos looked good and the fact that it served food, we decided to give it a go. And what a good decision it turned out to be. The food seems to be home cooked and there's quite a varied menu with typical English and Scottish dishes. It was our favourite pub restaurant on our stay in Shetland.

A cool wine/cocktail bar/pub in the centre of Lerwick. It had only recently opened after a major refurb and new owners when we visited. Everything was run well, they didn't serve food, and I don't know weather they will in the future. It was certainly one of the nicest bars we visited and one we would come back to.

We had a fabulous meal here when we were staying in Brae. The whole experience was magical, we were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights! It was probably one of the best experiences we have had. We were staying at a different hotel near Brae, (I wont mention the name) which was ok, but if and when we come to Shetland again, we will bee booking the Busta House Hotel.

Lovely country pub serving good homemade food at sensible prices. Situated in Brae at the north of the island the pub is privately run and has a nice cosy atmosphere. There is a pool table and dart board and TV. There is also a separate room that can be used for private functions. This is a really nice pub to visit as there iare not many pubs that serve food as good as this.

Had a great stay during a working trip to Shetland. The hotel and bar are very atmospheric and would make a fantastic film setting. The staff are extremely helpful without being intrusive. The food was of a high standard as was the service. The only downside is that we didn't get to see the Northern Lights! Ah well, maybe next time.

We used this store on our stay in Shetland. Its only small but well stocked. The service is great and the kind you only get from a family run business. There is a fuel pump on the courtyard as you can see from the photos, and their costs are competitive. We think its important people use these small family businesses when visiting Shetland because its these businesses that give the islands such a unique feel.

We hired a car for a few days and saw Tagon Stores on this guide, we were only calling in for some fuel, however we ended up stocking up on provisions as the store is very well stocked. Its pretty much like a small supermarket.
