Information
Since 1661, when Falmouth received its Royal Charter Award, the historic town has thrived. The largest town situated on the banks of the Fal-estuary its success has been built on a backbone of maritime industry. Falmouth’s location on the south coast of Cornwall gave it a great advantage when dealing with trade from Europe and that success has developed in keeping with the times making today’s Falmouth one of the top destinations for UK sailing enthusiasts. The natural working harbour is one of the largest and most picturesque in the world and is the centre of Falmouth’s business life offering first class facilities, superb water-sports opportunities and a world renowned school of sailing. There is also a bustling vibrant town centre with excellent restaurants, hotels and pubs as well as numerous heritage sites where culture vultures can satisfy their thirst for local knowledge. And like you would expect from a Cornish coastal town there are two fantastic beaches to kick back and relax on. With something for everyone, Falmouth is an ideal destination for those wanting to discover one of Britain’s most historic areas. Not only does Falmouth offer a wealth of activities and events for its many visitors, it also makes an ideal base for exploring the surrounding coastal region.

FALMOUTH MARINA GUIDE
My wife and I are interested in learning to sail, either in a yacht or a power boat, but neither of us have any experience with being in charge of a boat. Are there any local courses or other ways we could learn to be on the water safely before we think about buying a boat ourselves?

Kind regards
David and Millie

Hi Kugan
The feedback we have received is that although its obviously busier in the Summer months, there's still plenty to do in the winter.
A pretty good choice to moor your boat.
Happy Sailing!

Having my boat delivered in March this year. to Falmouth. Not chose a permanent destination as yet, but want somewhere that is lively all year round. Is Falmouth very seasonal? ie closed or very quiet in the winter, or is there still plenty to do?

Crew of Wave Seeker.
Just had our first trip to Falmouth and my daughter found your site on a search engine when we were looking for some repair work and downloaded your printed version. We found the service we were looking for and have found it really useful during our stay here.
We later used your eating out section for our meals and drinks etc. Think you have got the right blend of nautical and general information. Will definitely be using your pages in future.
Well done.

The Waterside by Beryl Mcdonough
The location of the Waterside is second to non. If its a sunny day this place is a must. You can come accross in a tender if need be, or drive round. Better fun in the tender though.
Great place!!
