Information
Since 1661, when Falmouth received its Royal Charter Award, the historic town has thrived. The largest town situated on the banks of the Fal-estuary its success has been built on a backbone of maritime industry. Falmouth’s location on the south coast of Cornwall gave it a great advantage when dealing with trade from Europe and that success has developed in keeping with the times making today’s Falmouth one of the top destinations for UK sailing enthusiasts. The natural working harbour is one of the largest and most picturesque in the world and is the centre of Falmouth’s business life offering first class facilities, superb water-sports opportunities and a world renowned school of sailing. There is also a bustling vibrant town centre with excellent restaurants, hotels and pubs as well as numerous heritage sites where culture vultures can satisfy their thirst for local knowledge. And like you would expect from a Cornish coastal town there are two fantastic beaches to kick back and relax on. With something for everyone, Falmouth is an ideal destination for those wanting to discover one of Britain’s most historic areas. Hi Kugan
The feedback we have received is that although its obviously busier in the Summer months, there's still plenty to do in the winter.
A pretty good choice to moor your boat.
Happy Sailing!

Having my boat delivered in March this year. to Falmouth. Not chose a permanent destination as yet, but want somewhere that is lively all year round. Is Falmouth very seasonal? ie closed or very quiet in the winter, or is there still plenty to do?

Crew of Wave Seeker.
Just had our first trip to Falmouth and my daughter found your site on a search engine when we were looking for some repair work and downloaded your printed version. We found the service we were looking for and have found it really useful during our stay here.
We later used your eating out section for our meals and drinks etc. Think you have got the right blend of nautical and general information. Will definitely be using your pages in future.
Well done.

Falmouth Marina
Falmouth Harbour is one of the largest natural deep-water harbours in the world and just outside Falmouth in the sheltered waters of the Fal Estuary, sits Falmouth Marina. Set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty the estuary offers up twelve miles of glorious boating water that stretches as far as the cathedral city of Truro with numerous creeks, wooded shorelines and quays to explore along the way.
Falmouth Harbour is one the largest natural deep-water harbours in the world, offering shelter in any weather, with creeks to discover and glorious Cornish countryside to explore. Falmouth Marina is located on the south side of Penryn River – the first creek on the west side of the Fal Estuary. The South Coast marina is divided in two by a cill which dries to 1.8m above chart datum. However, there is 2m depth either side of the sill so there is plenty of water.

The Eden Project
Welcome to our global garden: a place of beauty and wonder which explores humankind's dependence on natural resources.
Here you will find crops, landscapes and wild plants which reflect the amazing diversity of our planet. There's also internationally famous architecture and art which draw inspiration from nature; and a stage on which people working to make our world a better place can tell their stories.
A symbol of hope for the future.
Ten years ago this place was a barren, exhausted china clay pit. Now its massive Biomes (one of which is the biggest greenhouse in the world) and millions of plants bear witness to what can be achieved by a can-do attitude and the tenacity of the human spirit. Eden is as potent a symbol of hope for the future as you could find anywhere on earth.
Simple pleasures
That's the big stuff…simple pleasures await you here too: imaginative children's play areas, impromptu storytelling, workshops for all ages, a wide choice of delicious food, a shop full of amazing stuff from all over the world – and just sniffing the flowers, of course.

The Chintz
A year ago the three of us got together and decided to build our own bar exactly how we wanted it with no restrictions and no rules. Inspired by our favourite book, Alice In Wonderland, and in homage to the late David Bruce, our task was to create a little haven where people could escape, let their hair down and experience something new. Not wanting to be just a bar, we have built The Chintz in the hope that it can become a creative space for people from all walks of life. Lovingly handcrafted out of the sterile remains of a dental surgery, the building of The Chintz has been a long and arduous journey. There have been blood, sweat and a whole lot of tears but ultimately we think it has been worth it and we hope you do too...
So, without further ado, we present The Chintz Symposium. Come down and join us. Eat, drink and be ridiculously merry; but, most importantly, be prepared for the unexpected.
