A warm and genuine welcome awaits you from Nicola and Martyn at Cotswold House Hotel.
Family-owned and run, the hotel has been carefully refurbished to create an elegant yet entirely comfortable atmosphere for our guests.
Open all year round and offering half board or bed & breakfast facilities, our wish is for you to feel relaxed and totally at home during the time you spend with us.
Cafes
Jam is a shabby and quite groovy, flock wallpapered shop stuffed with comfy sofas, formica and battered old standard lamps for that lived in feel. On the High Street in what the marketeers might call Falmouth’s old quarter… truly a street with no chains but all the best shops. Is it record shop? is it a cafe? yes it is...
Born in the spring of 2003 we have been bringing an esoteric collection of music, film and art to locals and visitors alike – not to mention exceptional coffee and some nice biscuits too.
One of a dying breed of old fashioned record shops (with actual records in it) Jam aims to share our finds in new and old music – we stock what we like and hope some other people may like it too (or we won’t make any money)

A year ago the three of us got together and decided to build our own bar exactly how we wanted it with no restrictions and no rules. Inspired by our favourite book, Alice In Wonderland, and in homage to the late David Bruce, our task was to create a little haven where people could escape, let their hair down and experience something new. Not wanting to be just a bar, we have built The Chintz in the hope that it can become a creative space for people from all walks of life. Lovingly handcrafted out of the sterile remains of a dental surgery, the building of The Chintz has been a long and arduous journey. There have been blood, sweat and a whole lot of tears but ultimately we think it has been worth it and we hope you do too...
So, without further ado, we present The Chintz Symposium. Come down and join us. Eat, drink and be ridiculously merry; but, most importantly, be prepared for the unexpected.

Marinas
Falmouth Harbour is one of the largest natural deep-water harbours in the world and just outside Falmouth in the sheltered waters of the Fal Estuary, sits Falmouth Marina. Set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty the estuary offers up twelve miles of glorious boating water that stretches as far as the cathedral city of Truro with numerous creeks, wooded shorelines and quays to explore along the way.
Falmouth Harbour is one the largest natural deep-water harbours in the world, offering shelter in any weather, with creeks to discover and glorious Cornish countryside to explore. Falmouth Marina is located on the south side of Penryn River – the first creek on the west side of the Fal Estuary. The South Coast marina is divided in two by a cill which dries to 1.8m above chart datum. However, there is 2m depth either side of the sill so there is plenty of water.

The clear water, sheltered creeks and mild temperatures of the Fal estuary provide fine natural oyster beds, sustaining the last remaining oyster fisheries still dredging under sail and oar in Europe. Falmouth's maritime tradition is regularly celebrated through regattas and festivals.
The port is still working with big ships arriving for fuel or refit. We have a mixture of beaches and working docks giving Falmouth both work and tourist elements.
Falmouth's natural harbour is the third largest deep-water harbour in the world, the traditional gateway to the Atlantic and one of the world's great sailing harbours. Our office is situated within an established marina and is a short walk from the town.

My wife and I are interested in learning to sail, either in a yacht or a power boat, but neither of us have any experience with being in charge of a boat. Are there any local courses or other ways we could learn to be on the water safely before we think about buying a boat ourselves?
Kind regards
David and Millie
The feedback we have received is that although its obviously busier in the Summer months, there's still plenty to do in the winter.
A pretty good choice to moor your boat.
Happy Sailing!

Food ok also.
We later used your eating out section for our meals and drinks etc. Think you have got the right blend of nautical and general information. Will definitely be using your pages in future.
Well done.
