Koyseinepi restaurant is set in a beautiful square just off the main street of Heraklion. This is a very discreet but yet very accessible restaurant. Koyzeinepi is set out so the dining experience is mainly al fresco as they have few tables inside with a large dining area out in the open which are all set around a sweet little garden.
At koyzeinepi the chef Nikos is the owner so all of the responsibility is on him something you don't tend to find in this day and age. His passion for food is clear just from the menu alone as it isn't just the traditional food you find in a Greek restaurant this is what sets them apart from most restaurants in heraklion centre.
Here at Koyzeinepi the specialties include my favourite (theo from harbourguides) the knuckle pork which is cooked in the wood over for 6-7 hours. The meat just falls from the bone and the crackling is just something to die for. There are many other special dishes available like chicken, pork and some of the most prime cut steaks to choose from. The starter menu is also great as there are many diverse dishes to choose from and get those taste buds going.
There is also a selection of wines to choose from the house wine is very cheap but perfectly acceptable.

This restaurant is very special food indeed but harbourguides insist " come with a healthy appetite ". Its is the ideal no fuss restaurant with a great atmosphere for both couples, friends and is very family friendly.

The menu has been put together by both the chef and the owner Nikos who has travelled all over europe eating at over 300 different restaurants to provide some of the best dishes around. The menu combines European dishes with a Cretan take so you get the best of both worlds. Milk and sugar also has a very tasteful wine list which is hard to find in the greek islands.
After you have enjoyed the fabulous food in the best surroundings in Heraklion we encourage you to stay and have a few drinks in the open air bar as the night starts to warm up. The sound system that Nikos has fitted was part of his previous venture 'desire club' and was voted the best sound system in the world 2 years running. The music here starts at a very relaxing and comfortable pace playing the likes of Frank Sinatra and the rest of the 80's right through to the most recent kind of mainstream and house. Every Tuesday is a big night with some of the best Greek and European Dj's playing and every Thursday is solely Greek night. We have very experienced bartenders who are regularly trained by absolut creating some of the best cocktails in Greece (the mojito is a must Jamie from harbourguides).

Welcome to Marando's restaurant in Heraklion, Crete
Marando's restaurant is new to the Heraklion dining scene but it isn't a totally new concept as there is already a very well established Marando’s in Mykonos which is also owned by Nikos. The coveted location and romantic setting on the newly built seaside promenade gives diners uninterrupted views that stretch as far as Santorini on a clear day. We accommodate both types of customers wether you prefer to sit inside with the view to the kitchen or Al fresco on the beautiful decked area looking out to the sea.
The food here at Marando's is the most adventurous in Heraklion in many respects, like the novel Beetroot terrine. The menu is liberally sprinkled with specialties most of which derive from Mykonos. There is a dizzying selection of crustacea from mussels to crab, including the hard-to-find sea urchin. There is one thing for sure once you have eaten her at Marando's you will be leaving a very happy customer and will be returning.

70 years later, the same building was converted into a one-of-a-kind restaurant whilst giving respect and consideration to the carob processing plant and its history. After four years, Ergospasio has created an excellent reputation with the locals and visiting tourists for quality seafood and fresh fish. Their unique menu offers delicacies not only from Crete but from all over Greece. The owners supply their own pure-quality, local produce such as olives, olive oil, honey etc. as well as their own quality, bottled wine all of which are greatly appreciated by customers. This beautiful stone-built restaurant is in an impressive position on the waterfront but also has access from the main road into Elounda. It is easily spotted from yachts arriving from the direction of Spinalonga into Corfos bay. Many private yachts visit Elounda each year and because there is no Marina, they anchor nearby in the sheltered bay. Access to Ergospasio is easy by dinghy or small boat either via a small shingle beach or from their lower, waterfront terrace and there are mooring buoys available. The restaurant is also within easy walking distance of the centre of the village. Co-owner, Dimitris, is a fisherman, catching his own octopus and fish. He has many contacts in the marine industry and can offer help and advice if needed.
Ergospasio is truly a unique place to visit for a refreshing lunch in the heat of the day or for dinner in the evening when you will dine in a truly romantic setting.
