Our firm was established in 1977 to cater for the marine sector in the South. We were then located in Union Quay - hence our name. Since then we have enjoyed rapid growth which has resulted in Union Chandlery being one of the leading suppliers to the Fishing and Marine Leisure industries .
In January 2002 we moved to our current site on Penrose Quay. Our new building has 6000 sq.ft of ground floor space with an upper level housing our offices and HILLWALKERS outdoor shop.

Our current site is an American-style shopping mall, a one-stop-shop catering for all needs and tastes both for Retail and Trade customers.

This part of the south west coast of Ireland is dotted with islands, many of which are now uninhabited, perfect for peaceful sailing holidays. Others, including Cape Clear, Sherkin and Heir Islands, have ferry access to the mainland.

The Fastnet Rock, west of Cape Clear, is Ireland's most southerly lighthouse and marks the halfway point in the famous biannual Fastnet Race for yachts.

Castletownshend, Schull, Goleen and Crookhaven are just some of the West Cork towns and villages to which Inishbeg sails on day charters. On weekend sailing holidays, Bantry, Glengarriff and Bere Island are within easy reach. Cruising further north to the Skelligs and Dingle is possible if you have a week or more aboard the yacht.

Wreck Hunter is a new custom built Wildcat 107 Catamaran from Safehaven Marine, Cobh . She has twin 370Hp Yanmar Diesels (up to 27.5 knots max!), a huge amount of rail and deck space, and a wide band of economic hull speeds. She has superb Seakeeping qualities, as the Cat hull form gives impressive stability, deck space, and speed, with no slamming, and very little spray, even at speed, due to the symmetric twin hull design. Angling on the Drift, and at Anchor, you will not believe how comfortable the boat is to fish from.
The boat was designed for comfortable Sea angling and has a Galley with Gas hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, and hot and cold running water. Ample Tea and Coffee are always available. In the Cabin, there is a 17” TV with DVD, and the Aft Deck Colour Video camera captures all the action astern (a DVD of trip will be available, on request) .
The Toilet / Shower facilities are accessed directly from after deck, for convenience. Long side curtains can be slid out over the after deck, to protect the angler from the variable Irish weather. There is more than 8 feet of space at the rails for each of the 12 anglers.

Safety at sea has become a vital sector in our supply and we offer Life raft and Lifejacket servicing under the most modern and stringently controlled conditions. Geary's Angling Services is owned and operated by Donal and Mary Geary. Donal has successfully represented Ireland and Munster at sea Angling on a number of occasions and had been working boat skipper for 25years prior to 1992, when he purchased “John-Boy” A 33ft. fast “Lochin 33”. Ever since he has been operating a very successful Sea Angling business from Cobh, while Mary owns the local tackle shop.

Cobh is situated inside Cork Harbour and offers shelter to fish any weather. We offer Shark, Wreck and Reef Fishing for Blue Shark, Conger, Ling, Pollack, Turbot and Rays among others.
