nspired by the true elegance and tradition of the sailing era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries rooms are named after the famous J class racing yachts, many of which have since been restored to their original opulent condition. Some say even better! In the late 1930’s local man, Chester Currie was lucky enough to sail on Endeavour 1 and to be the only Scot in a crew of twenty six sailing on Velsheda. After racing all around the British Isles the final race of the season finished on the Clyde.
In each room you will see superb prints of the appropriate J Class yacht by the renowned artist, Tim Thompson.
Just spent a couple of nights here, and had a brilliant time.
The owners have done a good job here and is one of the most nautically themed hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, definitely worth a visit even if it is just for dinner or a drink just to take it all in.
Thanks.
