The preparation of exquisite food at The Idle Rocks (Two AA Rosettes since 1992) is a well established tradition, born from the rich availability of locally-grown Cornish produce, including early season fruit and vegetables, fresh sea fish and the best quality meats and poultry.
Dinner at "The Water's Edge" Restaurant St Mawes is a very special occasion. All tastes are considered in creating the day's choice, in which the specialities of the season are highlighted in Head chef's irresistible style. Imaginative Vegetarian dishes are also prepared if required.
Breakfast is traditional with a touch of flair - enjoy dishes such as Smoked Haddock with Poached Egg, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg or if you prefer, light and continental. During the day, the "Terrace" is the ideal place to enjoy lunch or a cream tea in the sunshine as you watch the world float by.
Lunch, morning coffee and afternoon tea are available. Non residents are welcome. In the summertime, the terrace is the place to be, with it's front row view of the activity on the water. There is plenty of space for relaxing at any time of day and informal meals are available. Lunch is a most enjoyable affair particularly on the hotel's waterside terrace in fair weather. The Waters Edge is a beautiful St Mawes Restaurant. The Two AA Rosettes dining experience is second to none.
Two of the Harbourguides crew (Liz and Steve) were fortunate enough to stay at the Idle Rocks Hotel and although both have traveled all over the world they can not think of a nicer hotel or location anywhere. Liz said “its been one of the most enjoyable weeks away I have ever had” and Steve added “the rooms the restaurant and the service is second to none” They would both along with the rest of the Harbourguides crew like to say a big thank you to all the staff there especially the manager Chris Skidmore!
