The Burn How - meaning "the house on the hill by the stream" - was originally owned by the Short family who were famous for their 1937 Sunderland flying boat.
The current owner, Mr Michael Robinson, has cared for and cultivated the mature gardens for over 30 years, encouraging the local wildlife that delights our guests with their antics, and creating an oasis of peace and tranquility where you can Escape, Relax and Unwind.
In a elevated position overlooking the garden is the Main House where you'll find the Reception area, Lounge, Bar and Restaurant.
And nestling among the trees you'll find a diverse range of room types unlike any other hotel in the Lake District. From standard to deluxe and chalet-style to cottage rooms, there is definitely something for everyone at The Burn How Garden House Hotel.
