Burlington's Restaurant
The rich farmlands of Cumbria provide abundant produce of which The Beech Hill's kitchen makes full use. The hotel is actively involved with the annual Taste of Cumbria Food and Drink Festival - an entertaining showcase for the gourmet delights available from the county. Dinner in the Burlington's Restaurant, with its award winning food, service and Lake views from almost every window, is the highlight of any stay at The Beech Hill. Saturday evenings are particularly enjoyable as guests are entertained by a jazz quartet or pianist.
The hotel has held 2 AA Rosettes for a number of years and its consistency in producing cuisine of a high standard is ably demonstrated by our two mouth-watering menus:
Dinner is served daily between 6:45 pm to 8.45 pm . Dress code smart/casual, preferably no denim.
Griffin Bar & Lounge
Relax in our Griffin Bar and Lounge with its big comfortable sofas and uninterrupted views of Lake Windermere. Cool in the summer and warmed by a log fire in the winter, you can take the opportunity to pause, reflect and unwind. Guests can enjoy a quiet drink, full afternoon tea, light snacks or simply relax with their feet up and enjoy the views. On a sunny day unwind and take in the splendour of the vista on our spacious terrace, enjoying one of our cocktails or enjoy the comfort of an open log fire with one of our specialty coffees on a cold winter's night.
The bar and lounge is named in memory of Harry Griffin, the famous writer and rock climber who was a regular guest at the Beech Hill. Harry wrote more books about the Lake District than anyone else and was still writing his record breaking Country Diary for the Guardian Newspaper when he died in 2004. Details of his achievements and some of his precious memorabilia are on display in our lounge area.
