Our restaurant we opened in 1990, and in those 20 years, has become a classic in Sitges. Probably more than 75% of our loyal clientele comes from the same town and nearby villages.
Our kitchen, constantly evolving, trying to be a meeting point between now and tradition. In our menu you will find updated traditional dishes such as cod with garlic pickles, rice in Sitges xató how much time and endive.
The desserts are intended to be light, and without unnecessary baroque element combining tradition and modernity, with special attention to the table cheeses Catalonia and some sweet wines, among which there is the lack of Malvasia Sitges.Totes preparations you'll find there are ours except for the ice cream.
Address: Restaurant La Salseta, Carrer Sant Pau, 35, 08870 Sitges
With so many restaurants and bars to choose from in Sitges, it is easy to wander round desperately trying to make a decision on where to eat. This restaurant is definitely one you should consider if you appreciate good tasty food.
We arrived just as they opened, it was obvious this was a family run business and we were greeted like old friends.
Luckily they had an English menu on hand, and the waiter was happy to discuss their specialities and we ordered based on his recommendation - including the wine. Fresh bread was served - wholemeal, along with roasted nuts.
The octopus, bean and chirozo starter was divine, and my partner had the smoked chicken and apple salad, which I am told was also delicious. We were given ample time to rest between courses, and did not feel rushed at all.
I opted for the Chicken supreme wrapped in homemade pasta, it was rich and creamy, delicious and cooked to perfection. The fillet was just as good, served with fresh vegetables and pepper sauce.
Despite this, we had to leave room for desert, which finished dinner off perfectly.
I would highly recommend booking, as most tables were reserved in advance, or get there early, this place is truly worth a visit and only 2 minutes from the bustling bars, it is great location
