Founded in 1970 by Mrs. Sylvia Rew, the Rew Hotel Group is still family managed. Beautifully positioned right on Torquay's magnificent sea front lie three of the bay's finest 3 star hotels. On the site of the original 1825 Livermead Cottage, in 1922 the first advertisement for "Livermead Cliff the new Maritime Residential Hotel" appeared in the press. Continuing serving today is the Livermead Cliff Hotel extended from the original building. The hotel was purchased by Rew Hotels in September 2004 and is undergoing a continuous programme of refurbishment, with major works due to commence in October 2007. The Livermead Cliff has 63 en-suite rooms and the new Perry Suite. Most rooms are available with Sea View and some with shared Balconies. The Livermead Cliff has its own direct private access to Livermead Beach and is a level walk to the Marina & Town Centre.
