We have been to Corfu three times and hired each time off Fair Deal. It DOES state clearly that extra insurance is required if you want everything covered. To me it's a no brainer to pay the extra 49 euro for complete peace of mind. I worked in car hire in Greece for over 12 years and the extra insurance is advised in each and every company, sometimes up to 25 euro per day so 7 euro is nothing. Some of the big companies don't even include cover for theft. All the big companies block a certain amount on your credit card. If you have full insurance with Fair Deal no amount is blocked. I do the same in Spain when there and always go for the full package just for my peace of mind. If you were so worried about the narrow why didn't you pay the extra and relax. No scam with this company, just read all the information including small print. Good company will be using again next June.

BEWARE OF THEIR INSURANCE POLICY! The webpage says that zero-excess insurance is included in price, only selected parts of vehicle (tyres, mirrors...) are excluded from it. But when we picked up the car at the branch, employee told us, that there is a €700 excess for all damages, no matter which part of car is damaged. Only collisions with other cars are covered by 100%. They asked us to 7€/day pay extra for insurance to be really fully covered, this insurance is not mentioned at the website. We refused. Also the excess according to website conditions is just €400 (for cases of damaging tyres, mirrors etc.), but we were forced to sign a contract with €700 excess.
This behaviour was just a scam, NO FAIR DEAL AT ALL. Luckily nothing happened to our car, but I advice you be very careful with this company. Roads in Corfu are narrow and bad maintained, it's easy to get a small collision or other damage here.

There is about four reasons that I would highly recommended the Fairdeal Car Rental to all my friends and family . First of all I wanted a car but there was not any car available but I was quite impressed the guy hire a car to another company so that he doesn`t let me down . 2 : The car was in a really good conditions and the price was the best deal I ever come across . 3: It suited my purpose perfectly . 4: They respected their words , what I meant by that is : when they give me a time and place they would deliver the car was bang on : 08:00 O`clock sharp they were there . Nowadays it very difficult for people to honour their words . I`ve seen that a lot . To finish I will say keep doing what you are doing because your customer service is top quality . Lindsay Martial
