Molly Malones was the first authentic Irish Pub to be established in Athens. It was opened in Glyfada Athens in December 2003 and quickly became one of the most popular venues in the South Eastern suburb of Athens. All major sporting events are shown on out large-screen televisions and if there is a particular football match or other event that you would like to see please ask one of the staff if it is available and we will do our best to find it for you.
Been visiting Molly Malone's on and off since it opened in 2003 – times have changed. Took some guest there recently and was very disappointed with the service and food. The Bar staff were rude, the food was not good and expensive. Were made to wait for over 20 mins for drinks to arrive. People who say the food is excellent must be drunk when eating. What frustrated me and for which I found embarrassing in front of my business colleagues (German, French and English) was that they gave us fake receipt. After some grumbling they issued a proper receipt. I find it funny that people can complain about Greeks issuing fake receipts but this establishment is run and owned by Irish.
There was also a situation with some customers, think they must be new expats living in the area (from Scotland) who were causing problems with other locals both Greek and expat who sitting quietly. Bar Staff did not help the situation, how the atmosphere has changed and what a disappointing evening. Will tell friends, guests to avoid, not a place to bring family and business colleagues.
