Corfu Sailing Club was founded in 1977 as a branch of the Panhellenic Club of Offshore Sailing (POIATH) of Athens. In the course of time the Corfu Sailing Club (IOK) was founded as well. Both clubs operate in harmony with the same people, the same administration board and the same members.
During its long course, it was responsible for the operation of many schools of offshore sailing for beginners, transmitting love for the sport to more than 1200 young men and women of our island.
In 1984 the Club organized the HALF TON (MINI TON) World Sailing Championship and twice organized the eastern Mediterranean championship with great success.
