Hi,

I'm a french traveler around the world by bicycle. I'm now in New Zealand and I'd like to cross the Pacific on a sail boat. I'm inexperienced but want to learn.
Do you know if it's possible to do it?
Do you have any information regarding this kind of trip?

ps : I lived 2 years in Australia where I own a handymen company.

Thanks

Gregory

Hi Greg
Yes its possible. I would go to as many marinas and harbours in and around the area, and get some sort of advertising card that you could ask them to put on their notice boards, and of course ask as many people as you can. Quite often boats are after crew members. It may be worth your while doing some kind of simple RYA course ie Competent Crew, as you could display this on your card. Its a quick course, but at least it would give you the basics whats expected of you on a boat.
Good Luck
Rob
