GREEK SAILING TAXES

Friday May 1st, 2015
Pay taxes if you cruise in Greek waters.
Following on from concerns expressed by the RYA, the European Commission has stated that the Greek cruising tax introduced in 2013 on boats of 7m is lawful according to EU law.

The tax will apply to all boat in Greek waters irrespective of the nationality of the owner or registered flag.

The tax bands are as follows:
7.1 to 8m = €200 per year
8.1m to 10m = €300 per year
10.1m to 12m = €400 per year

Boats over 12m can pay monthly or yearly:
Per month = €10 per metre LOA
Per year = €100 per metre LOA

12,10m - 1.210,-/year
