In the unique natural harbour of Lakki, in Leros island, Lakki Marina is situated on the port side of the harbour, just beyond the commercial quay in the town of Lakki. In 1912 Italian forces occupied the Dodecanese, and selected Leros and especially the Lakki and Partheni natural harbours as an ideal location to base their naval stations, which were the largest in the eastern part of Mediterranean until 1943, the remains of which have survived in the region. Boats arriving at Lakki Marina can now enjoy the beauties of the sea and the environment of the Island of Leros and surrounding areas. Lakki Marina in Leros, is well organized, and has been operating since 1993, offering many facilities, showers, toilets, laundry & dryer services, and also other services upon request, (contact the customer care department with your requirements). Lakki Marina capacity is currently approximately 45 craft, with permanent quay side locations, which can entertain boats up to 125 feet and with 5 meters draught. At the basic level, the berths are supplied with electricity power 220V 16A / 32A / 63A and 380V 63A as well as fresh water, while permanent laid mooring lines guarantee the safety of the boats moored. The recipes they use are authentic homemade recipes passed from mother to daughter until today. The first of the family , who started in catering, was Stamatis Makris , the grandfather of todays Tavernas Paradisos owner, who had the first 'Kafeneio' in early 30s. Next in line is Manolis Makris who took control of the 'Kafeneio' and made it to a Taverna with the help of his wife Stamatina. Stamatis Makris is the current owner of Taverna Paradisos and he offers you magical evenings playing his bouzouki real greek folk music with his greatest son Manolis, who plays accordion and both they do some greekJazz jams. Anna,Stamatis wife, is the responsible of the main dishes,home-cooking and hand-made appetizers ( 'meze'). She is an excellent cook, while she cooks with fresh ingredients,extra virgin olive oil making you feel like eating home. Michael , the second son of Makris Family, is now the owner of the new Café "Paradisos Café" that is only a few steps behind Taverna. Leros Marina, Evros S.A., was established in 1989, when the rocky land overlooking the beautiful Lakki harbor was acquired. Lakki was used from the Italians as a naval station and aeronautics base for the whole of the Eastern Mediterranean during the Italian possession of the Dodecanese Islands from 1913 to 1943. The area that was selected is found in the north-eastern part and at the right end of Lakki Bay, - 37o 07,76" N. 26o 51,40" E -, at the precise point where the Italians moored their hydroplanes. On this private land, a new yacht harbor and marina has been created. It was the first Marina and Boatyard in the South East Aegean Greek waters.
