I see you are updating your Channel Islands Harbour Guides. I have friends from Northern France who are sailing to Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark etc. this Summer. We are going to visit them and help out crewing etc. but dont want to stay on the boat full time and are looking for accommodation. I see you have an accommodation feature on Harbourguides, is this for holiday makers or for crew members? We are on a tight budget and I think a feature on budget price hotels on your guides would be a goods idea.

In answer to all the email and social media queries regarding the fact that we have not yet compiled a visitor/ harbour guide to Herm.
We are now in the process of updating our guides to the Channel Islands. We are hopefully going to include Herm on this as it definitely merits it. However as we have noted before, we do need the co-operation of businesses on the island to help with the costs involved in the process of compiling and updating our guides. We have to monitor all business reviews, update business information, pay UKHO for the use of their charts, etc. etc. The Harbourguides crew love this island, but,we are a business and without revenue from local businesses we would not be able to function. Hopefully this time we will have a complete and informative guide to this island.
We really are trying our best.

What is the deal with this Herm guide ? Would like to know when we can view some info on the place, or is it not worth going to ?

Hi George.
We are planning to compile our guide to Herm next time we are updating the rest of the Channel Islands.
We do however rely on the co-operation of local businesses when we compile any guide, as it is their advertising revenue that funds the whole process of sending reps out, paying UKHO for permission to use charts, then the upkeep of the sites etc etc. There is quite a lot of expense goes into all of our guides.
With Herm being so small we expect to be able to do something when we are on Guernsey. But it will definitely help if the Herm businesses come onboard with us.

When are you compiling your guide to Herm. I know its only a tiny island, but to someone who doesnt frequent the Channel Islands they may get the impression that there is absolutely nothing here. The guides you have done for the other Channel Islands, Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney and Sark are extremely useful and informative. Come on Harbourguides get Herm done.
