The second largest of the Channel Islands, Guernsey, is the perfect place to escape to. With its stunning scenery, vibrant town life and superb sailing conditions the island offers endless possibilities to the discerning traveller. Spend long happy hours lazing on one of the beautiful beaches or strolling for miles along cliff-top paths and through the idyllic rural interior.
The island’s capital, St Peter Port combines a wealth of local history, a traditional bustling atmosphere and an impressive choice of shops restaurants and pubs to completely satisfy 21st Century visitors. Offshore the high tides, steady winds, world class marinas and abundance of secluded bays all bathed in the warm waters of the Gulf Stream are amongst the most exciting in Europe.
Adventure, relaxation, heritage, entertainment, hospitality - Guernsey has it all in abundance. Is it any wonder that so many people fall in love with the island?

Hi
We are cruising the Channel Islands again this year. We used your Harbour Guides on our last visit. How often are they updated? ie will there be new information on when we arrive in the summer/

We visited Guernsey this year and used your Harbourguide for information. We found it very useful and we visited quite a number of businesses on the guide. (especially the bars and restaurants) we have left comments on our experiences. Although we visit the Channel Islands quite regularly we did descover new and different businesses here on Guernsey and the Jersey and Alderney.
We hope our comments help others using the guides to decide where to go and what to expect.
Thanks

The Restaurant at Beaucette Marina
We moored up in St Peter Port. Stayed there for a couple of days then hired a car to see more of the island. Drove to Beaucette Marina to try this restaurant. We loved it. As others on here have commented, this is a complete contrast to St Peter Port, the setting for the restaurant is stunning as the marina is extremely beautiful. The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxing. The restaurant is run by lovely staff and Valerie made us feel very welcome. The food and service were of a high quality. Unfortunately the marina can not accommodate our boat, but it will not stop us from returning by land in the future. All I can say is if you are visiting Guernsey by whatever means, boat, car, plane, ship etc. take the time to take a visit to Beaucette marina and try out this restaurant.
Thanks A&J xx

La Grande Mare Hotel
Hire a car and get away from the marina and come over to La Grande Mare. Its so different to St Peter Port. we really felt that we were on holiday. Located in a lovely part of the island (West coast) rugged coastline and extremely picturesque. Leave the boat in the marina and head out here. Book the in-laws or guests in the hotel, they will love it.
See you in 2018

I see you are updating your Channel Islands Harbour Guides. I have friends from Northern France who are sailing to Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark etc. this Summer. We are going to visit them and help out crewing etc. but dont want to stay on the boat full time and are looking for accommodation. I see you have an accommodation feature on Harbourguides, is this for holiday makers or for crew members? We are on a tight budget and I think a feature on budget price hotels on your guides would be a goods idea.

Just a quick thank you. We used your guide extensively on our last visit to Guernsey a couple of years ago. We are returning this year for a six week break and are looking forward to discovering more restaurants and hotels etc, We have left an honest appraisal on each of the businesses we visited and hope that future visitors find them useful.

Had a fantastic time cruising these beautiful islands, but have to say, Guernsey was our favourite. Plenty to do and see, but it has a definite island feel to the place. Fabulous restaurants and bars.
A must place to visit.

Taj was the restaurant of choice last week, and passed the test with flying colours.
It has been a while since my last indian, so I went with the standard Lamb Tikka starter followed by Garlic Chilli Chicken (asked for it to be toned down just a little) and they got it just right.

Unfortunately or fortunately as the case may be went for Tennerfest at Barberie Hotel only to find closed due to staff party, then went to Auberge but that was also closed and ended up at Saints Bay Hotel and it was great.
Beef Wellington was my choice and judging by the quality of the food is worth going long after the tennerfest is finished.

Hi there H.G.C. I think you need to find some charter boats for Guernsey, as at the moment there are non that I can see.
I can only attribute this to the fact that nobody wants to charter on both sides of the equation due to the 'delightful' rugged coastline on this beautiful island, apart from the experienced fisherman who have eyes in the back of their heads.
Good Luck, and aside from this will continue to keep patrolling the site in the new year.

Took yacht insurance out with Rossbborough, and hoped we would never need to use them. However the day came when we needed their services after an extremely expensive accident aboard our yacht. We were apprehensive, as we had had a bad experience with another insurance company some years earlier. This time though our fears were unfounded. The service and peace of mind that was given us by this company was second to non. We have been paid out, with no fuss. We have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone.
Thanks

Hi - Iam trying to trace info on my gtgrandfather who was said to have been a Guernsey harbour master. His name was John Palmer from Yorkshire England. He was married in Vale Guernsey to Julia LeMaitre in 1859 and was there building a family until late 1860's so would suggest that was during his time as harbour master. Do you hold records that far back please. Family were in France in early 1870's and don't think they returned to Guernsey. Many thanks from Pat

Is this service still available? sounds good. I have emailed but no reply as yet..We are over in late June, so if someone can give me some feedback I would be greatful.

We always seem to come back to this place and seldom are we disssapointed. A really quirky restaurant bar thats just a little bit different. Very attentative staff .
Some people described this as good pub food, but its much better than that. The setting is more in the style of a nice pub but the food is definitely restaurant standard.Very generous helpings, so if you have a good appetite this is the place for you.
We always have at least one meal here when we visit Guernsey and This year was no exception. As usual everything was perfect, it just seems to get better and better every time we come.
We only came here on one of our last nights, but we wished we had discovered it sooner. We loved the food and the atmosphere, its somewhere we will be coming back to on our next visit to Guernsey.
Another one of our favourite restaurants on Guernsey. You can pretty much guarantee a fantastic meal here every time. Great location if you are staying in the marina.
This is always a port of call for us when on the island. Everything is luxury with fantastic food, health club, service, atmosphere, etc. Our advice is get away from the marina for a day and come here. we always do.
Pretty newish bar. Visited for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. No expense spared in the decor and refirbishment. We will be putting it on our visit again list.
It really is nice to visit the Old Quarter restaurant when we are in Guernsey. Always guaranteed a warm welcome from the owner chef and his staff. Really worth a visit. Very competitive priced also.
I recently used the services of Optimum Marine to carry out a survey of my vessel. Oli Byles carried out the survey and I found the service professional, informative and courteous. I would recommend this company. John Heale
Paddy is a great chef and host. Lovely family run restaurant in a lovely part of Guernsey. Get away from the marina for a while and take a walk up to the Old quaarter, its unspoilt and a throwback to many years ago
A beautiful luxury hotel, restaurant, bar and health club in picturesque part of the island. If your looking to treat yourself or someone else, you would struggle to choose a better place than here. Obviously not the cheapest place on the island but its not crazily priced either.
One thing, It is worth every penny if you are looking for that little bit of something special.

Great to come and visit the Old Town, A really nice walk from St Peter Port. The Road is oldie worldie with cobbled street. By far the best restaurant here is the Old Quarter. We always have at least one meal when on Guernsey.
Very friendly staff and great food.
Loved this place in the Old Quarter. Its as if time has stood still. The chef Paddy was a great character and made us extremely welcome. Deffinitely one to come to back to.
This had to be our favourite place in Guernsey. If its 5 star treatment you want, then look no further. Everything is to the highest standard. The owners of the boat stayed here and we came over as often as we could.
Loved it!!!
Great relaxing place, would say pub food, but so much better than that. Portions are big, so if your on a diet, have a day off. But if your hungry you wont be when you leave.
Well was completely gobsmacked with this place. Deffinitely wasnt here last time we were racing on the island, but hope to god ut still is on our next visit. Guernsey needs places like this.
well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Merry Christmas to all of you at the Randalls pubs and hotels. Its great to have a brewery as good as this on this beautiful island. All the best for 2018
Great guy who runs this place. we dropped the kids off for ten minutes to look at "Games?" thinking they would be bored when we came back. Well we couldnt have been more wrong. The kids loved it and wanted to return at every opportunity. The guy who runs it was very patient and really made the trip. Didnt get his name, but thanks for making the trip more interesting for the kids.
Yes Helen from Janchila, great to see a toni&guy when you arrive looking like you have been dragged through a hedge backwards after a rough crossing. This is what I love about these guides, they are not just about sailing, but they seem to know what sort of things we need when we arrive. Well done I think
Still one of the best restaurants on Guernsey. Never lets us down, food always great, atmosphere great, location near to the marina. All in all great place.

As we were moored up in St Peter Port we visited many bars and restaurants in the area. This was our favourite in St Peter Port. Jeane liked it because he thought it was like an English pub. I liked it for the food. Lovely atmosphere and staff. If you have a good appetite you will appreciate the dishes.
Well worth visiting, we will certainly re-visit next year.
Hi Paddy, Thanks for contributing to making our trip to Guernsey a great one. Love the restaurant, food and atmosphere. Back in early July 2018, hope you have a great season.
Mark and Jane
Dont walk pass this restaurant. It looks small from the outside, but once you enter its like a tardis. Lots of space with quiet parts. we came in with a charter crew of eight and was easily accommodated. There was also plenty of couples dining, we all seemed to join in in conversation. Made for a great night with mouth watering food and lovely staff.
See you again soon
We stayed on the boat and Joe's family stayed at the hotel. (as per) We all met up here every night. Get away from the marina scene for a while and see more of this beautiful island. The owner is very flamboyant and makes you feel extremely welcome, the staff were fantastic and the overall atmosphere is just upbeat. We normally love going back to the boat, but to be truthful, we went back wishing we had a room booked. Looking forward to our next visit to this lovely hotel and restaurant.

Fantastic location, Fantastic Accommodation, Fantastic Food!! If your not staying on the boat, or got guests that you need accommodation for, look no further.
Woop Woop!! This place wsnt here last time we we visited and wasnt on our agenda. Thanks Harbourguides we have now altered our charter schedule to fit you in. great addition to Guernsey
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! What A place!! First time in Guernsey, and was in St Peter Port. I am deffinitely returning and will be staying here. If the accommodation is as good as the food its going to be a good one xx
We just loved this place, great change from the marina and fantastic service. We are going to spend more time here on our next visit and take advantage of the health club.
Great place to take the kids. The guy in charge helps with any advice on the games and provides a safe environment for the younger generation. Both my children loved it here. Thanks
Arrived yesterday, picked up the car from airport. No fuss quick and friendly welcome at the desk. Car also perfect for these roads. All round great service.

Wow!! What a place.Cant wait to go back again. This is a place to stay if you really want to remember the experience for ever. We really could not find fault. I very rarely comment on these type of things ie trip adviser etc. but felt compelled to express my opinion on this place. Simply brilliant!
Good service and cars. First time we have hired a car in Guernsey and we were pleasantly surprised. Got to see much more of the island in our own time and got us away from the marina much more. Will definitely do it again.
We arranged to meet some friends here for a quick drink. we did stay a lot longer and ate some fabulous food. We will definitely eat here again on our return to Guernsey.
Great pub with extremely affordable accommodation. Our in-laws stayed here and we came and ate and drank with them here. All in all great value and nice food.
Although we didnt stay at the hotel we ate here. The first time we came here we didnt have a booking so we made arrangement's to return and this time we booked a table. It was well worth coming back to. Fabulous meal with surroundings and service to match,

Although we didnt stay at the hotel, we did come for a Sunday meal. Igt was fantastic, So much so, that we plan to stay here on our next visit.
Top class.
We came here for a Sunday dinner and we were not disappointed. It was probably the best meal we had on the island, and we had some great meals. Everything about the experience here was fantastic. .
Although we didnt stay at this hotel, we visited it often. The views, decor, service etc. are all to an extremely high standard and also affordable. Highly recommended
We used this company a lot on our last visit as we didnt hire a car. We both agreed that it was a lot more stress free and they offered a good reliable service.
We all ate here last Summer and can honestly say we had one of our best nights on Guernsey. We are planning another trip to the Islands in June 2017. Village East is on our itinerary
Great restaurant.
Stayed here a couple of years ago and found it great value for money. There was a restaurant below called the Pickled Pi, is this still open? as I cant find it on the website.
Great find, not stayed here but have heard its great value for money. I have however nipped in for some lunch and was impressed. Will deffinitely return
Wow stayed here a good few years back. Glad to see it on here. We are returning this Summer so will be sinking a few in the yacht. Great friendly place where you can meet locals as well as other visitors
We have been visiting here for many years now and never get fed up of it. we are sailing here again this August and one of our first ports of call will be La Grande Mare.
Fantastic restaurant. Just what you need at the end of a hard days sailing. The staff are very flattering and make you feel special and the food is top class.
Hope to see you again soon
Sandra
Arrived here on a 40 foot Beneteau with 4 other crew all the way from Largs. We needed some comfort and relaxation time from the crossing. The Grande Mare is the ideal place for this. Absolute luxury. We even played a bit of golf.
If you need a taxi or a coach trip in Guernsey, this is definitely the one to go for. We have been coming to this beautiful island for many years now and use this website for information. This is one of our best finds.
Keep up the good work
You will more than likely have to book here, but is one in a million and and attention to customers was the best I have come across whilst frequenting the restaurants on this latest visit.
Starter:- Roast Guernsey Scallops from the 'OLIVIA J'
bacon, black pudding & orange & hollandaise.
Main:- Bella Surf and Turf, Half a local Lobster with Café
de Paris Butter and 5oz Fillet of Aberdeen Angus Beef.
Everything was cooked to perfection, and delicious.
Rock Garden attatched to Fermain Valley Hotel is a place you have to go to, good food and amazing atmosphere.
Get the impression that in summer is a place to frequent.
First time I have eaten here and started off with Lamb Tikka, poppadoms, and excellent lime pickle.
Next was Garlic Chilli Chicken (asked them to tone it down a touch) and was just right.
These are the 2 dishes I usually try if on a first timer, and was impressed.
Just examining your places to stay as I am new to this site, have only had stays at this one, and can vouch for it.
Unless it has changed in the last year, and if it has please don't point the finger at me. I am just trying to be helpful.
Goodbye.
Jim
As visitors to the Island we had lunch here today - whow !!! what a lovely place with superb food - friendly service and relaxed atmosphere - a true credit to your beautiful Island.
Would recommend to anybody and will without any doubt be returning !!!
Davina and John are great hosts, and best thing about this place is the breakfast which is served without fail 7 days a week from (amazingly) 6.30am , this is brilliant because you can carry on sailing, walking, flying or ferrying without messing your day up.
Fantastic.
Not bad, never been down this end of road before.
Friend who uses site regularly mentioned that on our next visit here, we should have a look. Nice place.
We have all had a fantastic reunion here tonight( 5 years since we were last together) what a place to have it, brilliant night foodwise and drinks.
Thanks to all the staff again, and hope to see you again, but not as long next time.
Retired RAF team.
This was a memorable experience, very old school and delightful how they look after you.
I think we can honestly say it was one of the nicest all round evenings we have had in a long time, and both of us are in our EARLY 60'S so we have had a few.
Today is our 20th wedding anniversary, so we pretended last night was our celebration and once again thankyou to all the staff for looking after us.
Loved our stay at this luxury hotel We are used to staying in small cabins, so the rooms seemed huge. Great golf course and food too. cant find fault.
Hope to be back soon.
Pete
Couldn't agree more with the above comments. I have had bad experiences in the past with boat repairs, the usual ridiculously high prices, then the jobs not done right. Guernsey Boatworks give a fair price and do the job properly. Nothing more to say.
Very similar to Dr Who's Tardis, meaning upon entering it expands into an Alladins Cave and looks nothing like the outside.
An amazing array of gifts that are non chandlery.
We had a day at the hotel yesterday, featuring lunch and a swim then a mad dash to the boat to Jersey.
Always thought it was to far out of town to get to and taxi would be horrendous.
Not the case only 5 minutes from town centre and boat terminal.
Just got married, eight years after getting my engagement ring from this fabulous jewellers. Worth the wait. Coming back for a reunuian this summer, and hoping for an eternal bracelet or something similar..See you soon.
Had no idea this place existed, even though we have been to Guernsey numerous times, but is just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the town, but not to far even if walking.
Have been in Beaucette Marina for last 2 days, and have been very happy with standards.
May consider moving here, currently in Jersey but think there is a more pleasent environment over here.
Had lunch at hotel last week, wish we had known about it earlier because the area us beautiful.
Anyway food was delicious and next tree we will come back and stay.
Glad to see my favourite restaurant is still here, been coming here every year for past 3 years and have never been let down.
Keep up the excellent service.

We are actually in the process of updating our Channel Island guides now, so when you arrive in the Summer there will be a selection of new businesses and services.
Hope you enjoy your trip to these beautiful Islands.
HG Crew
We are cruising the Channel Islands again this year. We used your Harbour Guides on our last visit. How often are they updated? ie will there be new information on when we arrive in the summer/
We hope our comments help others using the guides to decide where to go and what to expect.
Thanks

A must place to visit.

Hi, My E-mail is suffinedmonton@hotmail.com :)
ph: 780-940-5380 Edmonton,Alberta , Canada.
Check it out apart from Sunday and Mondays at the moment.
It has been a while since my last indian, so I went with the standard Lamb Tikka starter followed by Garlic Chilli Chicken (asked for it to be toned down just a little) and they got it just right.
Beef Wellington was my choice and judging by the quality of the food is worth going long after the tennerfest is finished.
Hope you find this useful for your eventual decission.
You have to be staying there obviously, but it is very good and you have thewhole day ahead of you.
Enjoy your stay, wherever you end up.
Participating restaurants lower their prices for you to enjoy the food.
Go to www.tennerfest.com
Very convenient because of its location in centre of town, and delicious.
Will tell my friends about it.
Anyway it was ok and seemed an alright place considering the time of year.
no more.
We irrevocably have never had any fault with the food, and more to the point Service with a Smile.
Fear no more and go to The Duke of Normandie Hotel in town centre, fantastic and 2 minutes from bars, shops and Marina.
The menu & the staff were spot on and would suggest anybody reading this should pop in next time you are in the area.
Amazing value as the word says.
If you stay there, ask for courtyard room they are brilliant and when you walk under the Arch you are in town centre and 2 minute walk from the water.
Ambience, food, and drinks were spot on, without a doubt would recommend it to anyone, but I think booking ahead is the way to go.
we have used them 3 times in last few years and are perfecto.
Hope to be back soon.
Pete
Well done "Grey Wolf" and skipper Pete Watson and crew on their return from Auckland.Great effort lads. And well done Guernsey yacht Club for a great welcoming.
Thanks
1 relieved boat owner.
Thanks
Thanks
Friend told us about them along with your site a few weeks ago, fantastic.
Henri.
Good on them, and hope they have many years ahead of them.
Cheers.
Well worth the visit and cheap.
We had to make an emergency stop in Guernsey last week due to adverse weather conditions, hence had car dropped at Marina by Value Rent a Car (1)
then we both had quick fix at Tony and Guys (2) followed by a round of Golf at La Grande Mere where we decided to stay (3) after a good night's sleep we were back on board heading for Marseille !!
No complaints about any of the services we tried from your website, look forward to using you again.
Regards Ronny and Sue
Lovely staff.
Oh hotel was good also.
As we were reassured last night.
You will enjoy.
Family run and very nice.
Brilliant and will be going back.
Food and service excellent.
Feel like a food Critic lol..could get into this, let us know if you need anyone to review all your restaurants lol
Very professional, and sorted out our problem very quickly.
Would recommend
Have since taken out a policy with them, and am very pleased.
Keep up the good work .
