With its own private entranceway, service desk and lift, a stay at the Penny Street Bridge feels more exclusive than staying in a simple townhouse. You can simply slip in unnoticed and retire to the comfort of your room.
There are 28 uniquely shaped bedrooms which work to make the most of the quirky space of the listed building – with one of our rooms being home to a beautiful listed wardrobe that we can’t, and wouldn’t ever want to, move.
The rooms themselves are all impeccably decorated, with the highest quality beds and walk in showers with big showerheads to wash away the stresses of the day. And with triple glazed windows in all of the rooms, you can enjoy being in the heart of the city, without any of the hustle and bustle interfering with a good night’s sleep.

We pride ourselves on a reliable service to and from your destination, our drivers all live local to their working area therefore have expert local knowledge in and around the Lancaster & Morecambe area.
All our drivers have enhanced DBS checks through our local council authority and have a strict dress code.
We have a fully operational call centre with an advanced computerised booking/dispatch system, automated web booking available.

In March 2006 The Borough opened its doors to the people of Lancaster with the promise to serve honest, quality, locally sourced produce at reasonable prices in beautiful surroundings.

We are also delighted to be able to host many functions in the Drawing Room upstairs. From weddings & civil partnerships to christenings, birthdays even divorce parties for 2 to 80 people. We specialise in tailor-making your event to suits your needs, tastes and budget.

Relax and enjoy the light and bright surroundings of The Grill on the Bridge. The high ceilings and fantastic period features make for a stunning backdrop, and our friendly team are on hand to serve you – all-day from early ’til late.
Chef Andrew Nixon and his team prepare all our dishes in house – and work on a philosophy that starts with really great quality raw ingredients (sourced locally where we can) and then simply prepared with care and skill. Our pizzas are already making a name for themselves in Lancaster ( how do they get the base so light and crispy?) and the 28-day aged steaks are just the best for taste and flavour. Don’t forget to leave room for one of our delicious puds – there are some traditional favourites that we think you’ll find hard to resist.
On the drinks front – we’ve lots of choice too, and being owned by a local brewery, means that we’re able to serve some of the finest Thwaites cask ales, in peak condition. Our wine list is pretty special too, with over 12 wines by the glass and some great value bottles on offer.
Supporting our city and local business is important to us and so we’re proud to serve Atkinson’s coffee – skillfully roasted and blended for us no less than 1/2 mile from our door. Of course, there’s also a great tea selection and our hot chocolate is a year round favourite – not just for the chilly days.

Market Gate Shopping Centre is situated in the heart of Lancaster’s historic city centre, serving a local catchment of around 140,000. The Centre’s prime location within the city’s retail offer provides a valuable link within the pedestrianised shopping area.

It provides 24-hour pedestrian access through covered walkways, offering a vibrant atmosphere in and around the 30+ shops and Market Hall. You can take a break and relax over a coffee in Caffe Nero, or have your hair cut and styled in Toni & Guy, Supercuts or Rachael Anne.

A 120-space roof top car park offers customer-friendly parking with the flexibility to pay before you leave, using the Pay on Foot Chip Coin system. No worries about rushing back to your vehicle to check if you have over-stayed! Wider spaces are also available on the top level for disabled drivers, with lift access to the shops below.

A recent decision to refurbish the public toilet facilities has been welcomed by customers, particularly the disabled toilet on the ground floor and the parent room on the first floor, where private breast-feeding facilities, a baby changing area and a unisex toilet are provided. The baby change facilities are located on the first floor along with the mens and ladies toilets, between the car park and the shops, and are accessible via the adjacent public lift and stairs.

Glasson Basin Marina has a berthing capacity of 220 boats. Jetty moorings are fully serviced with water and electric. Here at Dalton Arms Geoff and Debbie run a fantastic village pub with a history dating back to the 18th Century. Located in Glasson Dock, 5 miles South of Lancaster & West of M6 Junction 33 you will find us tucked away right alongside the Port of Lancaster quay side. With great views of the working dock, fantastic country walks and wildlife in abundance we are a great place to come and visit. A traditional menu awaits the hungry guest. We use ingredients sourced locally, freshly prepared and indulgent, we’re sure you'll keep coming back for more.
