Itís high time that Conwy with its harbour and quay had a seafood restaurant and Chrissieís Kitchen has come along and filled the gap. Situated next to the water and opposite one of the oldest houses in Wales, this intimate little eatery is owned and run by eponymous chef-patron Chrissie and specialises in seafood fresh from local waters. Expect dishes like the signature smoked haddock and prawn chowder and a seafood gumbo thatís packed with mussels, prawns, crevettes, oysters, scallops and crab. Itís open for lunch and dinner six days a week (closed Tuesdays) and wonít break the bank with an average three-course lunch checking in at around £20 and a three-course dinner for £26. Not bad prices for an increasingly scarce commodity. Well-behaved children are welcome and if they arenít huge seafood fans there is a kids menu featuring sausage, burgers and the like. Chrissieís can accommodate 40 diners over two floors and the downstairs is available for private hire.
