Fernvalley is the most northerly wildlife centre in the UK, located in the stunning Orkney Islands in the far north of Scotland. The centre specialises in offering a safe, loving, forever home to animals that have been abused or abandoned. We also take in surplus animals that are looking for new homes from zoos and wildlife centres. We have a variety of animals here at the centre from geckos and snakes to mice and meerkats! Many of our animals have come to us through various rescue centres across the UK and at Fernvalley we offer them a home for life. We are proud to be the most northerly wildlife centre in the UK. So come and take a walk on the wild side with us and get up close and personal with a snake, take the tunnel into our meerkat enclosure for a unique view of our three little troublemakers, watch our spiny mice as they explore their runs or simply enjoy a slice of homemade cake and a fresh coffee in our cosy, country tearoom. Have fun and be inspired at Fernvalley Wildlife Centre View a 360° tour

We couldn't agree more than the comments Constance & Ben have posted about FernValley Wildlife Centre. Its so obvious that this business is born out of love for the animals and not driven by money. I urge anyone visiting Orkney Isles to take the time and visit this attraction. Young or old you will really enjoy your visit and some of the animals are real characters that will have you laughing and make your day. GO VISIT PLEASE!

We could write a whole chapter on FernValley Wildlife Centre. we left this place with our faith being restored in humanity. Family owned and run the centre caters for lots of animals at a great cost to the owners. We got the impression that they are not doing this for the money, but just for the love of the animals. It must be very difficult for them to keep it going, especially during and after Covid. I would strongly advise anyone visiting Orkney to make the short journey to the wildlife centre. A swell as having a great day out you will have contributed to the welfare of these animals. Well done to this wonderful family and the genuine care they have for the animals.

It’s so nice to see a family run business make something from nothing but a dream. Great story and labour of love and to hear the story of starting this from nothing to an absolutely beautiful wildlife centre.

We spoke extensively with Gill and her daughter Lisa about their passion for animals and the care of them.

The meerkats feeding times and talk was excellent by Lisa .

I also recommend Gills home made cakes. Delicious.

Only down side is that we missed the arrival of their monkey lemurs. Don’t worry Lisa , we will be back next year. Keep up the good, hard work. Xx
