Fat Rascal Restaurant Guernsey
Hi Francis,we think the bar you are thinking about was called "The Red Onion" We are not sure it was the same building or if it was the one next door. Anyway its pretty close. The Harbourguides Crew used to frequent the Red Onion many years ago. We now go to Fat Rascals when we are on the island. Its a top end restaurant and wine bar thats very popular with both locals and visitores. Make sure you call in on your visit. Enjoy your trip to Guernsey and let us know how you got on.

Is this the same building that used to be a bar/restaurant about 30 years ago? I have not been on Guernsey for 20 years. last time I was there I used to go to a bar that I think is this one. it wasnt called fat Rascals then though. Can somebody remember what the bar was called. It used to have small TV screens besides the tables and always had any sports events on. I am planning to return to Guernsey this year and intend revisiting this bar. if only I could remember the name!!

We must have walked past the Fat Rascal about a dozen times or so in June/July 2019 and only went in on our last night. (We had to book) We had a great send off and met some new friends. Couldnt come in 2020 for obvious reasons, but we will be eating an drinking with you hopefully this summer.

Another restaurant we frequented a few times on our trip. Came in a couple of times just for a drink and soaked up the atmosphere. Its just off the main street, so ideally situated in St Peter Port, but as the last person posted you could walk past. its not difficult to find though. There seemed to be quite a few local residents in there and we struck up conversations with a few. It seems the restaurant has a very good reputation on the island.
Not the cheapest restaurant in Guernsey, but nor is it the dearest, but its certainly one of the best.
