About Us The business was first started in 1978 and Simon has been trading successfully ever since those early days. Simon specialises in all aspects of marine engineering for the pleasure boat industry along with some commercial work. All types of small and large inboard engines are worked on. The flexibility of the business has led not only to the latest in marine technology worked on but also much older engines often considered uneconomical for repair by larger firms. Over the years the business has been involved in many unusual projects including th e renovation of a Dunkirk `Little Ship' and a Chinese Junk. Having always supplied various makes of engines and gearboxes, a few years ago Simon became very impressed with the excellent range of BETA MARINE engines and we now specialise in the supply and fitting of these products. BETA MARINE'S engine range is built at their Gloucestershire factory and is based on the most advanced water-cooled diesels. The range features high quality, heat exchanger or keel cooled engines, which are both powerful and compact with low weight, and have smooth running characteristics through the speed range. Exhaust emissions are also very low and meet all current and future requirements. The range is made up of the following. SMALL ENGINES 10 - 37.5 bhp. MID-RANGE 43 - 90 bhp. Sail Drive options and Canel Specification engines. GENERATING SETS from 3.5 KVA. The Small and Mid Range are based on Kubota's tough and well known engine family. We can also advise on and supply a very comprehensive range of options and accessories along - with spares. BETA has built a reputation for quality and customer support. For example this can include the production of special feet to make the replacement of an existing engine easier.
