Missing Sunsail catamaran recovered after a year at sea

A ship of the Brasilian navy spotted an upturned vessel off the southern coast of South Africa in the Indian Ocean and reported it to the National Sea Rescue Institute. A lifeboat was launched from Agulhas and divers investigated the vessel, believed to be a Sunsail catamaran.

Sunsail assembled a team to recover the vessel but were told that the authorities had sent the tug Peridot. However it seems the Sunsail yacht did not wish to be recovered by the authorites and broke adrift from the tow line. Both the Peridot and Sunsail are now searching for the vessel although it is not absolutely confirmed to be the Sunsail catamaran.
