A couple of the Harbourguides Crew have been staying aboard one of the Stormforce Coaching yachts in Shamrock Quay, Southampton while updating the Hamble Harbour Guide. They were very impressed with the accommodation, but even more so at the selection of charter and training boats they command, including power and sail, bare boat and skippered.
Stormforce is much more than a charter company or sailing school, it offers a wide variety of racing events as far away as the Caribbean.
Although based in Shamrock quay Southampton, once winter arrives, one of their yachts heads off for the sun on its Atlantic circuit. First stop the Canary Islands then a mere Atlantic crossing for the winter season before returning to the Solent in the summer.
Sounds a lot of fun, and according to our crew members that stayed on one of their boats, the Stormforce Crew made them feel very welcome, so thanks guys.
