China has warned the U.S. that the presence of the U.S warship Lassen around the artificial archipelago built by China midway between Vietnam and the Phillipines could spark an incident leading to war. China considers the islands to be in Chinese territory whilst the U.S. considers itself to be exercising its rights of access to International waters.
