TOP GEAR PRESENTER KEEPS HIS EYE ON THE ECONOMIC ROAD
It looks like everybody’s favourite petrol head has landed himself in political hot water following comments he made about Gordon Brown. Scottish politicians are fuming over remarks Jeremy Clarkson made in Australia about the British PM.
When quizzed about the economic situation in the UK he had this to say: 'we've got this one-eyed Scottish idiot… He keeps telling us everything's fine and he's saved the world and we know he's lying, but he's smooth at telling us.'
Labour MP for Ochill and South Perthshire believes Clarkson’s comments are ‘Unforgivable’ and has asked the BBC to make the Top Gear presenter apologise.
Scottish labour leader Iain Gray has also been in a fluster and had this to say, 'Such a comment is really a reflection on Jeremy Clarkson and speaks for itself… Most people here are proud that the prime minister is a Scot and believe him to be the right person to get the UK through this global economic crisis.'
However according to a statement issued by Number 10 ‘Mr Clarkson is entitled to his own interpretation of the economic circumstances'.
