SURFERS LUCKY SHARK ATTACK ESCAPE Tuesday December 13th, 2011
ImageSHARK ATTACKS SURFER IN AUSTRALIA
Surfer Stephen King escaped serious injury or death when a shark took a bite out of his board whilst taking early morning surf in Australia.
Stephen said: 'There was just a bang from the side and I went cartwheeling through the air, then there was this thrashing beside me.
'I'm probably the luckiest guy on two legs at the moment. Yeah, unbelievable.' He didn’t escape completely unharmed though as he did suffer some minor puncture wounds.
Shortly after the attack in New South Wales near Angourie village, children were seen swimming on the same beach the attack took place.
Vic Peddermors, who is a researcher from the government Department of Primary Industries said 'You've got to be realistic. This is their territory and we're just the visitors,'
Once back on the safety of dry land Stephen joked with his friend that he was blessed. He has also agreed for his board to be displayed in a lical museum.
