Anyone wanting a really choice job working in the sport they love should read on now. The Royal Yachting Association is looking for a new CEO following the retirement of Rod Carr, OBE next February. For those that don’t know - the RYA is Britain’s governing body for the sports of sailing, motor boating, inland, personal water-craft, powerboat racing and wind surfing.

Mr Carr was expected to stay on in the role until after the 2012 Olympics and surprised everyone when he made the announcement in March after ten years during which Britain sailing teams have been top at three Olympic Games. Mr Carr began his career in sailing when he became dinghy coach for the British Olympic Team that participated in Los Angeles in 1984. He was awarded the OBE in 2005.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the Association's 100,000 plus members, 150 employees and an annual turnover of £18 million.

Closing date for all applications is Friday 31 July 2009.

For full details of the position go to www.rya.org.uk or apply for an application pack.
