NORWEGIAN BOAT OWNER FORGETS HE HAS BOAT

Thursday March 27th, 2014
ImageA wealthy Norwegian has just come forward to claim a luxury boat that he had apparently forgot about. The US-made Rinker 342 Fiesta Vee, worth about £60,000 has been in the Swedish harbour of Stromstad for a couple of years as it was up for sale, along with the keys that were tied to the railings in full view.

The owner was apparently under the impression that the boat had indeed been sold, however it hadn’t. Police trying to trace the owner turned to social media and a link was formed with Norway, as personal belongings on the vessel suggested it belonged to a Norwegian.

Eventually on the 26th of March 2014 a Norwegian person claiming to be the owner contacted them, explaining the fact that he thought he had sold the boat. Swedish police officer Tomas Andersson said: 'You have to be very wealthy to be able to forget about a boat in this price range,'

Although he is now reunited with his boat that he had forgot about, he now has two years of mooring fees to attend to, and as any boat owner knows, that’s something that really is difficult to forget about. But on the bright side, it sounds like he can afford it.
