NEW EXHIBITION AT NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM CORNWALL

The National Maritime Museum Cornwall has opened a new exhibition that will run from 3rd march until 30th May. The photography based exhibition will catalogue the history of Cornish fishing under sail and oar and has pictures originally sourced from all over the region.

According to the NMMC’s press release:'The turn of the 19th century marked the last days of fishing by sail and oar around the Cornish coast, but this period also coincided with the wider use of photography to record such work. Entire village communities were involved, and the joys, sorrows and wisdom of their inhabitants can be seen in this exhibition of images from the Penreath Photographic Archives.'
