How long is a cable?

The nautical cable is named afte the ship’s anchor cable and came to represent a unit of measurement equal to 1/10th of a nautical mile resulting in an international unit of 185.2 metres making it identical to the classical Greek measurement called a Stadium

The British Admiralty cable also 1/10th of a mile came to be calculated as 185.32 metres (608 feet).
