BABY BORN ON LIFEBOAT

BABY BORN ON LIFEBOAT Tuesday August 04th, 2009
ImageA pregnant woman from the island of Mull has given birth aboard an RNLI Lifeboat as she was being transported to the mainland. Her son was born before she even reached the shore, let alone the maternity ward at Oban Hospital.

Following the dramatic events she said 'I would like to thank all the local health staff for their help for me and my new son… The midwife on Mull was brilliant and full of advice and support and all the staff at the maternity unit in Oban have been great and made us feel very welcome.”

Bet he gets years out of telling that story at the bar when he gets to eighteen.
