BLACK SPOT - ORIGIN Monday May 30th, 2011
BLACK SPOTThe original black spot was method by which pirates made death threats. Made famous in Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure novel Treasure Island it was simply a small piece of paper marked on one side with a black smudge, and often a specific threat written on the other side.
