At Ambleside Central guest accommodation we provide very spacious double, twin and family rooms. Accommodation is newly refurbished in a contemporary style, and housed in a Victorian building which retains many of it's original features. Each room has either an en suite shower room or a private bathroom.

The rooms are furnished to a high standard, but we take a 'no frills' approach to our general facilities, enabling us to keep our room rates lower. We are rated a 4 Star Guest Accommodation by Visit Britian.

The Burn How - meaning "the house on the hill by the stream" - was originally owned by the Short family who were famous for their 1937 Sunderland flying boat.
The current owner, Mr Michael Robinson, has cared for and cultivated the mature gardens for over 30 years, encouraging the local wildlife that delights our guests with their antics, and creating an oasis of peace and tranquility where you can Escape, Relax and Unwind.
In a elevated position overlooking the garden is the Main House where you'll find the Reception area, Lounge, Bar and Restaurant.

Craig Manor is situated in the heart of the Lake District, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere it provides the perfect base for you to explore the Lakes by boat, wheel or foot. Bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped, and some rooms offer stunning views across the lake. The attractive and elegant lake-facing restaurant serves an excellent choice of quality dishes. Lakes Hotel is a small family run hotel in the centre of Windermere village in the English Lake District, Cumbria, UK.

It is about 150 yards from Windermere rail and bus stations, and is noted for its warm and friendly atmosphere, comfort and cleanliness.

Built in 1860, originally as a bank, this fine traditional stone building has a central location convenient for shops and a good variety of restaurants, with ample private car parking available within its grounds.

Halfway House is superbly situated amidst scenery of outstanding natural beauty in the Lower Brathay valley, the gateway to the Langdales. The property lies on a beautiful stretch of the River Brathay, attracting an abundance of wildlife. Day permits for fishing are available by prior arrangement.

The kitchen has been converted from two former rooms creating a light and spacious area. French doors have been installed to allow the sunshine to flood in and take advantage of the spectacular river views. Meals can be taken outside on the attached deck. This peaceful area attracts a haven of songbirds, woodpeckers and squirrels.

Upon entering the large lounge the inglenook fireplace impressively dominates the room. Beamed ceilings, parquet flooring and stone surrounds all add to the character. The original leaded windows overlook lawned gardens containing mature azaleas rhododendrons and a magnificent magnolia tree.

The 17th century house has been recently renovated to provide luxury accommodation but retaining the character and charm of a typical Lakeland home. The spacious bedrooms have all been redecorated to a high standard providing a high level of comfort and style. New bathr
ooms have also been installed.

Follow in the footsteps of famous historical figures like Sir Walter Scott and William Wordsworth and spend the night at the welcoming Swan Hotel in Grasmere.
