WHITEHAVEN MARINA
A gem of a marina. Super friendly and accommodating staff. All amenities within a very short distance, and some cracking pubs!

Bayonet and her crew have had a great time there, and will be back.

Whitehaven Marina to close sea lock for maintenance.
Annual sea lock closure for maintenance at Whitehaven Marina will take place between 22nd February and 7th March 2016. The sea lock and associated breakwaters help protect not only the marina, but also the town itself from the severity of the Irish Sea winter storms. Hydraulics, electrics, seals and anodes will be inspected and overhauled by marina staff and specialist contractors at a cost of £35,000.

Great day dinghy sailing at Nichol End Marine. Non of us had any experience but we all picked it up quickly thanks to the tuition.
We are going to keep it up, as we want to eventually charter a boat for a holiday.
Here's dreaming.

Just been to the marina here, and visited some of the businesses you have on this guide. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised, so many people give this place bad press, but i would like to put on record that Whitehaven is well worth a visit, and there are far worse places to moor your boat. In fact as far as value for money and services in general I would say it takes some beating.

The Beacon Whitehaven
TheBeacon is a great place to learn abour the history of Whitehaven and its surroundings. But there's so much more to it than the history side. The tag line on their website states that "Whether you’re 4 or 104, there is something for everyone to enjoy at The Beacon Museum" and it is very true.

The Rum Story
The café, set beside the courtyard offers many perspectives. Inside the converted stables snug stalls cater for up to six persons at a time whilst the airy glass covered courtyard feels like being outside. We even have balcony tables, which is a wonderful place for people watching or for keeping an eye on the famous Rum Story kinetic clock.
However, a choice of seating would not be enough on its own. We are proud that our café's many loyal regulars return time after time for our home baking and tasty meals, or just for a cup of coffee in the friendly atmosphere.
