St Mawes Information

Situated at the end of Cornwall’s Roseland peninsula, St. Mawes is a small, picturesque fishing village that has become a veritable Mecca for boating and yachting enthusiasts the world over. First time visitors may well think they are experiencing déjà vu; that is because the popular TV programme Poldark was filmed there.

With its almost Mediterranean summers and relaxing, idyllic setting it’s often hard to believe that there is so much going on. Obviously the main attraction is its wonderful harbour and superb range of water, sport and sailing facilities. With three excellent boatyards and numerous moorings it really is an excellent place to stay for those wanting to explore Cornwall’s historic South coast.

The village has an excellent choice of restaurants and pubs offering the very best seafood dishes in the land. There is plenty of accommodation ranging from first class hotels to self catering cottages, but be warned the village’s popularity means it gets booked well in advance. However if you do have to book months before your visit, rest assured your trip to St. Mawes will be well worth the wait.
