Plymouth is steeped in Maritime history including the Pilgrim Fathers setting sail for the New World, Sir Francis Drake, has and is the start and finish of many international yachting races including Transat and the Fastnet races. The office is situated in Queen Anne's Battery which has 235 berths and benefits from all the on site facilities that any boat owner would need, as well as The Royal Western Yacht Club. The office is also ideally situated for easy access to all the other marinas and moorings.

With two surveyors in this practice, we provide a comprehensive and professional service with emphasis on evidence based reporting and attention to detail. Dicky B Marine have been established for 10 years and is a company of time served shipwrights and stainless steel fabricators, we are able to undertake small and major projects from complete repairs and refits on GRP, classic or commercial craft, we are always available for friendly and helpful advice.

We can be found on the historic Mount Batten peninsula in the eastern hanger at Plymouth Yacht Haven Marina, which has the capacity to lift craft up to 75 tonnes and inside storage up to 24 meters.

We have nine full time staff here (and morph) ready to serve you and are committed to customer service.The shop is constantly evolving and we are buying in bulk in order to pass savings on directly to the customer.We do have customer accounts for many trade and personal clients and please ask in the shop for more information about setting one up.

Marine Engineering Looe is the largest and longest established Volvo Penta Dealer in the south west, with branches in Plymouth and Torbay. Owned by the Newton family for over 50 years, the senior partner is Robert Newton, himself offering over 45years of hands on experience with Volvo Penta products. Marine Wise was founded by Steve Lethbridge in 1991 who brought with him seventeen years experience with Marine Projects including Moody Yachts and Princess Boats.
The company's loyal clientele are spread between Plymouth, Totnes, Torquay and Dartmouth.
In 1998 Marine Wise moved to Baltic Wharf in Totnes whilst still retaining their clients in the Plymouth area.
Marine Wise are the nominated service engineers for Nanni engines and undertake warranty work for Sealine, Sunseeker and Fairline.
Marine Wise's day to day business ranges from installation and service of inboard engines both large and small, winterisation and commissioning of client's boats to supplying and fitting full heating systems, bow thrusters or simply the correct size bolt.

There has been a boat yard established in Cremyll for over 200 years, and in that time little of the character of Mashfords boat yard has changed. Skills that were in demand then are still in demand in the modern ship yard. Over time though we have invested in developing facilities onsite, updating machinery and tools required for our business and embracing the latest technology.
Having the benefit of six slipways, we can slip vessels up to 300 tonnes on our larger slipways and can accommodate up to 80 tonnes on covered slips. We also have onsite cranage available.
We have a full complement of highly qualified and fully trained shipwrights, boat builders, engineers, glass reinforced plastic specialists, welders and riggers.
We are fortunate to provide services to many well established clients. Our commercial clients include the Ministry of Defence, Serco and various other commercial customers e.g. fishing boats, diving boats, dredgers etc. On a smaller scale we deal with private work on sailing boats, motor boats and cruisers.

MJ Marine Safety is a small family-run business that was started in 2006 at the developing Yacht Haven Quay providing dry-berthing and a boat-stowage facility here in Plymouth.

Martin's career in Safety Equipment started off in the Royal Air Force in 1983 as a Safety Equipment Fitter. On being attached to the Parachute Regiment at Aldershot Martin served in several regions of the world servicing safety equipment.

Since leaving the Royal Air Force, Martin has become a Royal Yachting Association Sea Survival Instructor. He has also set up three approved MCA Liferaft servicing stations for previous companies and become a member of the RNLI Sea Check Team in Plymouth and able to give talks and demostrations for your club or Scout group ect.

Along side this Martin has now been trainined up with Her Majesty's Coast Guard Search and Rescue and since joining the Mountbatten (Plymouth) Team and has passed his Cliff Rescue technician course to become a Coast Guard Rescue Officer for the Plymouth Team.

It was because of the demise of his previous employer that prompted him to start MJ Marine Safety.

Mount Batten Boathouse carries a comprehensive range of chandlery, and our in-house workshop can provide information and advice on your installation and maintenance. Established in 1998, Mount Batten Boathouse boasts such agencies as Mariner Outboards, Yanmar Diesel Engines, Vetus diesel engines, Mercruiser, Webasto Heaters, Isotherm Refrigeration and Mastervolt Power Management and Generators. We have also been appointed Raymarine retail centre for the Southwest. We stock a comprehensive range of chandlery from leading marine suppliers such as Unipart and Plastimo. Our experience in installation and repair means that we can offer advice on DIY and supply the parts not found in the usual sources.

PlyMarTech Ltd was founded in 2006 through the passion of our directors to provide the maritime industry with an honest, dependable and professional approach for our customers. High quality workmanship and customer care is of utmost importance to us and we will always strive to provide this.
PlyMarTechs directors are time served engineers and between them have over 15 years experience working within Princess Yachts International as build and development engineers. Shortly after that, they completed the engineering on a number of other high quality boats including the Swordsman 40 (based on the legendary Fairey Swordsman 37). The insight and experience that this gave them, showed that there was a market for the customization of clients vessels and felt that with the passion that they had for engineering and aesthetics within the marine industry, they could make a difference in achieving the unimaginable.
We are also one of the few marine companies in the area to be CORGI Registered (Reg no. 233851) and fully qualified and competent to carry out gas installations and inspections.

Plymouth Powerboat School are an RYA powerboat training centre dedicated to providing the highest possible standards of tuition, safety and equipment all at competitive prices. We offer power boat courses, shorebased courses, skippered RIB charter, bareboat RIB charter, boat deliveries, boat transport and own boat training anywhere in Europe. Our most popular courses include Power Boat Level 2, Intermediate, Advanced, Commercial Endorsements, VHF Radio, First Aid, Day Skipper Shorebased & Yachtmaster Shorebased navigation theory courses. We train 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year from QAB Marina in Plymouth.
Our students range from complete novices through to those who have been boating for their entire lives. While the majority of our clients are leisure users, we also provide training for people who plan to work commercially on the water skippering dive / angling charter boats.
All our instructors are experienced professionals with a passion for the water. Plymouth Power Boat School's Principal is Michael Whelan. Michael has a wealth of boating experience including running a sailing school in Ireland and over 10,000 teaching hours.

We work all the year round. We are proud of our reputation for safety conscious fun and professionalism. Plymouth Sailing School was set up in 1957 and is one of the UK's longest established sea schools. We try hard to accommodate our customers requirements - from the complete beginner to the Professional Yachtmaster.

Shorebased courses start and finish at our office and classrooms at Yacht Haven Quay. The yachts are berthed in Plymouth Yacht Haven Marina half a mile down river and most of the practical courses meet at the new 'Bridge' restaurant and bar on the waterfront at the marina. Car Parking is free, there is an excellent bus service from Plymouth City Centre (No. 2) and a frequent water taxi from the Mayflower Steps pontoon on the Barbican if you are going to the marina..

I started in the trade from the age of 15 as an apprentice in a local Cornish boatbuilding and repairs yard serving a 4 ½ year apprenticeship as a traditional boatbuilder/repairer. Working on all types of craft including yachts, lifeboats, Fishing vessels, passenger vessels and a wide range of m.o.d. craft. Working to a high standard. Meeting with Llyods and Mca standards where required.
Subsequently have continued in the trade of mainly extensive boat repairs for a further 19 yrs. Covering just about all aspects of yacht and boat repair work, in and around south east Cornwall and west Devon.
My work has been mainly concentrated on traditional wooden craft but does expand through to contemporary construction methods and applications.

Set in the historic seaport of Plymouth, The Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club is situated on the waters' edge halfway between Plymouth Hoe and the Barbican. We have magnificent sea views over the Sound, with three city marinas close by. The clubhouse offers excellent facilities including lifts for the disabled. The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club private harbour where yachts can dry out, has a good slipway with a secure dinghy park.
Our 'Jewel in the crown' is the RPCYC restaurant where you may enjoy fine food and superb views over Plymouth Sound. The Ballroom, with its own large bar, has the same magnificent views as does the sun terrace which, protected by a colourful awning, can be enjoyed whatever the weather.

The Sea Chest Nautical Bookshop was established in 1989 and trades from modern retail premises in the Marina at Queen Anne's Battery in Plymouth, historic home of the Royal Navy and a superb natural harbour which is home to thousands of small boats. With this background it is not surprising that all our staff are sailing enthusiasts who are actively engaged in boating and knowledgeable on most topics, including our extensive array of electronic charts and navigation equipment.
The Sea Chest carries a complete stock of Admiralty sea charts and Imray Charts (from C1 to C70) covering Europe, The Baltic, The Mediterranean, Caribbean and American East Coast. We also have large stocks of new and second-hand nautical books, plotting instruments, videos, and software.
