LITTLEHAMPTON
Situated at the foot of the South Downs at the mouth of the River Arun, Littlehampton is a family friendly town with award winning sandy beaches and lovely weather. The beautiful natural harbour is a renowned safe haven from the strong tides and attracts leisure craft from all over Europe. As well as ample berths to accommodate visiting yachts and pleasure boats, the harbour has extensive marine services and facilities for visitors.
Alongside the moorings you will find Pier Road, which leads to the town centre and is lined with fascinating shops and waterside restaurants. The town’s maritime themed pedestrian centre is well served by various familiar high street outlets as well as chemists, newsagents and a supermarket. There is also a wide choice of exciting dining including Thai, Indian, Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish and Greek cuisine and plenty of pubs for bar food or that after dinner tipple. And as you would expect of a seaside town the fish and chips are to die for.
Littlehampton has not earned the title ‘Children’s Paradise’ for nothing. Besides the splendid beaches and lovely climate there are plenty of attractions for youngsters to enjoy including the all-weather Harbour Park adventure village and interactive Look and Sea! Visitor Centre. At West Beach, just across the river, you’ll discover the unspoilt sand dunes, rare plants and wildlife that are protected for reasons of special scientific interest. There is also an excellent golf course, which is open to non-members.
A beautiful and endlessly fascinating place where the welcome is as warm as the weather and the hospitality as inviting as the beaches, Littlehampton has a very big heart indeed.
