Isle of Mull Information

ISLE OF MULL
The second largest island of the Inner Hebrides, the Isle of Mull is also one of the most visited. And it is no wonder. Mull is a truly magnificent place, covered in spectacular mountains and areas of incredible wilderness. The coast is equally breathtaking making it a favourite with yachtsmen who enjoy coasting. There are plenty of little harbours. The most popular is Tobermory, which attracts visitors from around the globe. Here you’ll find marine services and berths as well as a bustling town that looks like it leapt off the pages of a children’s picture-book.

The island is especially popular with wildlife enthusiasts. The interior is a haven for thousands of birds and fascinating animals and the lochs are teaming with marine life. Offshore is similarly well populated with dolphins, seals and whales amongst the more spectacular animals you are likely to encounter. Outdoor enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with a list of activities that includes hiking, mountaineering, canoeing and rock climbing. History buffs will be amazed by the castles and ancient monument strewn across Mull’s awe-inspiring landscape.

There is plenty accommodation around the island and you are always guaranteed a warm welcome. Tobermory has fine restaurants and pubs, whilst further afield there are ample opportunities for cosy meals for two or a refreshing tipple by a roaring fire. The Isle of Mull one of those places that not only lives up to its reputation, but surpasses it. A lovely place for a holiday, any time of the year, Mull offers challenges, culture, hospitality and best of all tranquillity.
