Hamble Information

HAMBLE
Named after the river by which it sits the beautiful maritime village of Hamble is an absolute Mecca for the pleasure boat and yachting fraternity. With over 800 acres of unspoilt countryside easily explored via the river and the Solent providing access to the delightful south Coast of England and the Isle of Wight it is no wonder that sailors and water sport fanatics flock there in their thousands during the summer months. The wonderful climate, abundant moorings and excellent marine facilities are but a bonus.

And what of the delightful village itself. Well you would certainly be hard pressed to find many places quite as endearing. The focal point is the 16th century square with it’s famous Village Tea Rooms (formerly a coffin and rope makers) and the Compass Point Café housed in an 18th century fisherman’s cottage. Wander along the quay and admire the wonderful views or take a cruise down the river, take in the breathtaking surroundings and call at the legendary Elephant Boatyard.

The unspoilt countryside of the Hamble Valley is the perfect place for walking and picnics. Filled with attractions and picturesque villages it is also a great place from which to discover the New Forest and nearby cities of Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester. After a busy day sightseeing what could be better than returning to the tranquillity of the village itself, enjoying a lovely meal and relaxing with your favourite tipple.

One of the most idyllic getaways in Britain, Hamble is a place of warm welcomes, sincere hospitality and genuine magic.

Hi Gaz
We try to get each and every one of our Harbourguides completely updated every two years and add and delete relevent information throughout this period...However because of the number of requests from our visitors to add new areas and harbours etc. we do find it that it is now taking us longer. We are in the process of recruiting more crew to overcome this. The good news is that we receive many emails from visitors to our site that help to keep us up to date
