Fleetwood Information

Located within a sheltered enclosed dock, Fleetwood Harbour Marina offers 300 fully-serviced berths. A wide range of facilities is provided exclusively for marina users. The Fleetwood Harbour Yacht Club, created for marina-based boat owners, has a clubhouse at the marina and organises racing, cruising and social programmes for its members.

The marina is an ideal base from which to cruise Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea. For those wanting to explore further afield, Fleetwood is well situated for cruising to the Menai Straights and Holyhead. To the north-west is the Isle of Man and to the north along the Cumberland coastline is Whitehaven and Maryport, both with marina facilities.
Situated on the Lancashire coast, Fleetwood is well established as one of the UK’s major ports for ro-ro traffic to and from Northern Ireland, and has been a major fishing port for 90 years.

The sheltered enclosed dock houses a marina with 300 fully serviced berths, a dry storage compound and comprehensive facilities for the leisure sailor. It is an ideal base for cruises to Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea.

A 28 ha area of land around Wyre Dock is currently undergoing considerable redevelopment. Known as Fleetwood Harbour Village, this redevelopment scheme features a major retail multiple outlet, located adjacent to the 6 ha Freeport Fleetwood shopping and leisure complex, and to a residential development.

I Have heard that the water around Fleetwood is no longer being dredged..is this causing problems? We draw 2 metres on our boat and would like to hear some feedback.

Hello Gerry,

So far no problems with 2m if you stick to the channel and entrance directions.

Hi Mark
Thanks for the advice..We are now deciding between Fleetwood and Glasson Dock...we need some general maintenance before we set sail from this area and the boatyard facilities and services are going to be a factor.
Thanks
Gerry

We sail from fleetwood often and find the channel is ok with our boat.
She has a 2mtr keel....The new boat lift is amazing, makes it easy on the blood pressure when lifting out. Guy's in the office are always helpful also.
Been here around 6 years now ..... happy.
